OK. I'm up against it. Some time back there was a thread and discussion about a rotary, plastic loading tool for Cap Guns. I think it was manufactured in France. I also think PUK was involved in the discussion (PUK = Paladin UK).
I thought about the thing just the other day because I load on a tower of Power. I'd need 12 of them but what the heck. I'm lazy. Anything to make it easier.
So ..... anybody remember this ????

My Dear Coffin
Can you possibly elaborate? We?re these powder dumpers or ... ?

If I needed speed to reload I would be shooting a 1911 not an 1851.
But I am an old guy setfirmly in my ways.Ask anyone that knows me.

Perfesser ......
Yessir. Thems were powder dumpers for sure. There were six individual chambers into which one would stash their individual powder charges. On top of the duh icky was a rotating piece with 6 individual "spouts". Put the spouts over the chambers and turn, dumping all the reservoirs into the cylinder.
It is NOT less work. The thing wouldn't even save time in the long run. Some how, at some time, in some place, one would have to place a measured amount of propellant into the thing (s). This wondrous device would only serve to cut the loading time at a match, between stages. Sort of. Maybe. Kinda.
After all, one still has to carefully place a ball over said measured amount of propellant. Then ram said ball home. Then, eventually cap the nipples for the now loaded chambers. This thingie only speeds up a single step in the loading process. I don't think speeding up a single process would make enough difference to justify the cost and shipping from Europa. But lets be honest. We all know the latest technical advancement always speeds us up enough to get us that much closer to the brass ring ....... right??
Now, I honestly don't see the duflopus as that much of an advantage .... maybe. After all, I first load a measured amount of powder, then another measured amount of Cream-0-Wheat, then stuff a projectile on top of the whole mess. So ...... I would need between 24 and 48 of the things, depending on the number stages (3 day matches) unless I reloaded the thingies while sitting inna hotel/partners' hacienda wishing I wasn't bored. Maybe and perhaps, I don't need these thingies after all. That be a lot of Dinero for not much advantage. Humpff.
But I still wanna know if I"m the only one who remembers this thread.

..something like this ?

The original speed loader:

There are reproductions, if you wanna switch to shooting Patersons :)

FE Henry!!
That be pretty darn close!!! Thank You for finding it.
It is a pretty cool idea, but since one would have to spend the time to fill it with powder, and the number of them one would have to fill to shoot a match ........ Slightly better than extra cylinders as you don't have to clean a powder dispenser after shooting.

I found the original thread and posts ref Paladin, but due to lack of computer manipulation skills had no idea how to include his post with pictures on this reply. Ifin you're curious it can be found at present on page 17 of this (Darksider) section approx. halfway down. Titled "Multiple Nozzle BP Dispenser", last post is June 1, 2013 by Pony Racer. Has pictures and such, appears to be same or near the one Four Eyes posted. IMO the contraption can best be explained and catorigized with a quote from the late and great Col Jeff Cooper. "It's an ingenious solution to a non-existent problem"! I like working a powder flask and a loading leaver. Part of the interest and fun of the firearm. Anyone ever have any contact with PUK or know what happened to him. Was always interesting reading his posts.

Let's see if I can help...

Well thank ya Coal Creek, your a 'Gentleman and a Scholar' in what ever order you may want to put it. What's really bad is when my grandkids not even 16 can show me how to do computer and smartphone gymnastics'. :(

Super Sleuthing!! That be the prime Duhicky in the flesh. Yepper it is. However, some bummed am I. Currently I use a Rubbermaid container for powder, a second container for filler and a pair of precisely made scoops. All of which set right next to my Tower of Power (Shameless Plug).
Now the nitty gritty. The Rubbermaid containers cost about 3 Bucks each (I think) but free to me cause I swiped em from the kitchen. I made the scoops from carefully cut down 45 ACP cases I picked up at the range (free to me) and some Brass Rod stock and solder. Latest iteration doesn't even use solder. So the cost to me is actually about 2 Bucks. Amortized over thousands of rounds. OK, lets call it what it is. FREE!!!
Now, figuring for the cost increase over a 5 year period, plus (If they would) shipping and handling and associated costs, plus the offset for Dollar/Euro conversion bank charges for said conversion and wait time, all of which have to be factored in, which leaves an individual price of something around 25 to 30 Yankee Dollars a pop.
Here it is. If one uses filler (Breakfast Food to some) and Propellant (Necessary Stuff) one would need TWO Duhickies per gun per stage to dispense correct measures of Propellant (still necessary) and appropriate Breakfast Food (Nice to have) which does figure to TWO Duhickies per gun per stage. Swell. No problem, except, to have on hand, sufficient Duhickies per gun per stage, one is talking about (GASP!!!) SIX. HUNDRED. YANKIEE. DOLLARS. Defibrillator !!!! Quick!!!! That figure is to cover a 10 stage Annual. How about if you shoot a 12 stage annual?? That comes in at a Heart Stopping, Jaw Dropping SEVEN HUNDRED TWENTY YANKIEE DOLLARS.
SO .... Other than as a passing curiosity, I believe my par amore with this idea has wained. I mean sure, were I to skip the Breakfast Food, I could cut the cost for hardware in half which you might notice is still a whopping 300 Bucks. This to replace what I now use which is .... TA DA .... FREE. Does Not Compute. Plus you're still standing or sitting at some facility, with a precisely constructed Scoop for Propellant (a necessity) and a second precisely constructed scoop for Breakfast Food (Nice to have).
Think about it. There is no NET time saving. It takes just as long to fill the Widgets as it takes to charge the cylinders. Exactly the same. The you're adding the time to dump the Propellant and the Breakfast Food into the Chambers. We would still be spending the time. We should just be spending the time at different places and ADDING some NET TIME to the process. All of which is done at comparatively HUGE expense considering the NET cost of the current process. I rest my case.
We now return to our regularly unscheduled programming. Same Bat Channel.

F. E. Henry!!
Now that just might the trix. The combi Duhickie would cut the number of totables in half. I must be reviewing the situation!!

I am not sure exactly what this doohickey is because all the German I learned when I was there had to do with meeting the local Frauleins. But anyway it makes no difference because I am plumb out of Euros.
What ever kind of funny money that is.

I came in late. To reload a C&B Revolver quickly use paper cartridges or swap out cylinders. I know, I'm a heathen.

Well, I took your German lessons to a match in Uder (that is the last Ausfahrt of the Autobahn ;) ), got beer, coffee, puzzling looks ;D and second place in Frontier Cartridge...
Rained all day but it is a great place to be with wonderful people to be with...
Thnx ;D

Loading my Colt Army models I use one of the spring/plunger powder dispensing flasks.
Folks bought it for me when I was but a youth. Still works fine..the flask that is ;)
However, the plunger style only works well with my 44s & only works consistently with 3F powder.
Quite a bit quicker than the cut-off style flask charging, which I use with my Navy models.
They are still sold via DGW, but YMMV as mine was made 40+ yr ago.
