Not to add to your work load, but when using MS Word to compose a rely, or any message, I have found that  """ turned into "?" when pasted into the new message.  Thought it was just my level of Word but have now seen it it in other posts.  Might want to check into this.  It also changed my original post into question icons in this post before editing in your editor.

Depends on your browser and Operating system in terms of a solution, but I would try using "edit/paste and match style" (example from Safari browser on a Mac) from your browser menu. This should strip the text of any format copied from Word.
