Title: NV Cleaning

When do you guys recommend a thorough (Des-assembly) cleaning?

Never, I clean by removing the cylinder and nothing else.  Once in a while, maybe once a year I will remove the grips and flush out the insides with a spray cleaner then spritz the inside with Rem oil.   I disassemble only when something inside is broken.

Assuming we are talking smokeless powder, if you take the grips off you can spray it thoroughly with Gumout carb cleaner to flush everything out and not have to take it apart.

Taking it apart isn't all that hard but the carb cleaner takes only seconds.

Oil well after using carb cleaner as it will take every last drop of oil with it.

Brake cleaner works about as well as carb cleaner.

I completely agree with Rick K & Blackfoot.
That's the way we do it too.
A drop or oil on the cylinder pin too (when done w/ cleaning).
Tthanks, guys!
