Title: Officially joined the BROW Club with a Pedersoli Buisiness Rifle
Post by: Bob R. on September 16, 2010, 03:55:03 PM
Hi All,

My new rifle just came in, a Pedersoli Business rifle in .45-70. It looks to be a high quality product, the bore is nicely polished. No ammo yet, so it is an expensive paperweight for the moment, but come payday (tomorrow), I will order up a couple boxes of factory loads, and begin accumulating a handloading set for it.

Off to fondel the new sharps!...

Congratulations!! Pedersoli makes a fine Rifle.

Here's to some fond shooting sessions and shoulder bruises.. ;)

I have several rifles, including my Pedersoli 45-70 which have never seen a factory load. I find it more useful to spend the $$ on a set of dies, brass & a bullet mold right up front....a bit at a time, if need be. Payback on the gear is quicker that way.

Regards,
Slim

THanks Montana Slim!

Right now I am in process of getting the reloading tools and components. I did buy a couple of boxes of .45-70 as my closest shop happened to have them in stock, so I can shoot it and generate once fired brass.

I am looking at getting a pope-style capper/decapper, and I am hunting to see where I might find a reproduction of a bullet mould like Sharps used to offer, and a 19th century style powder measure and flask. I want to put together a little field set in a small box. A friend with no interest in the subject has an old Hazard Powder Company can that I might see if I can buy off of him as a decorative addition.

Bob R. - Welcome to the "Sharps Club". Pedersoli makes a fine rifle these days. Their barrels and rifles have always shot well, but their offerings of Sharps is now much better than they were 15 years ago, especially in fit and finish. Had they had then what they have now, I wouldn't have a Shiloh, though -  don't know whether to be pleased or pizzed . . .

Assuming it was a "fat finger error" but if it wasn't, don't try to shoot the 40-70 in your 45-70, simply won't work.

Yep, "fat-finger, quick typing syndrome"  ;D
