Title: Orders in Hand - will execute in late April 2010.
Post by: Pony Racer on February 22, 2010, 06:39:56 am
General I have the pleasure to report - I have completed my payback tour for getting a Masters Degree and am heading back to an operational field command in the USCG.

I am not going very far - I will be the Response Department Head at SECTOR Hampton Roads - basically an Operations Officer.

I will be working out of the USCG base in Portsmouth, VA - conducting Search and Rescue, Law Enforcement, and Counter-terrorism operations among others - up and down the VA coast and up into some of the rivers.

Very excited to be getting back to operational work.

I've always wanted to see Charleston for all it's historical sites and the ships that are in the bay that are open for touring.

Thanks Guys.

Interestingly enough TL, the Cutlass - redesigned in 1917 was supposedly (if you believe that everyone followed the regs) required for boardings, as a sign of the boarding officers authority until sometime in the 1920's.

I have often relayed this to my tactical responders when the compalin about what is on their tool belt.  Can you imagine climbing up a rope ladder of a large sail freighter with that thing banging at your side.

I do wear a cutlass to shoots from time to time or wear a large naval bayonet (repro Dahlgren) when i do not wear the cutlass.

Hopefully one of these days I can get to a Muster and partake in shooting and meals with some of ya'll.
