Sir, All,
The above suggestion is most honorable in these troubled times, but alas, the powers that be, i.e. US Govt., will not accept any letter or package addressed as such and has issued a press release to that effect. It, and a most interesting explanation, can be seen at the following Urban Legends/Snopes website:
www.snopes.com/politics/christmas/soldiercards.asp
The info is dated November 7th.
Best regards to all our Troops wherever they may be, and if anyone has specific names that is the best way to go about sending a card or package.

Ol Gabe,

Many thanks for the correction.

I encourage all who would like to assist our folks in the military to go to the site you mentioned ( www.snopes.com/politics/christmas/soldiercards.asp ) and take note of several alternative ways suggested to provide support.
