Since all my rifles are cross bolt safety Marlin I cannot play NCOWS. Wish this would be worthy of reconsideration!
Wonder if this is a large reason that NCOWS has little to no participation in the western states.

Howdy,
I think this issue was addressed. Cross bolt safety Marlins are legal now.
I'm sure more informed folks will confirm this issue.
Adios,

Big Hext has it right. At the meeting of the last Territorial Congress crossbolt safeties were made legal.
It was thought to be a legal issue and NCOWS didn't want to be in the position of encouraging people to disable a safety.

Well, well, well, thanks a lot whoever had something to do with allowing x-bolt safeties! I can put up with all the rest of the requirements.

I hope now you will seriously consider becomming An NCOWS pard jt

That is nice to know. I just might have to join now. :)

;) I would Slim!
If'n I wasn't way out here on the left coast I surely would. 8) I keep readin' what all the pards write about it and the magazine being top rate. I may just have to break down and sign up. Ordering up the Magazine is almost as expensive as goin' the whole way and joining ( hmmm, could be why they do it that way :o ).
Besides Slim, you have good stuff to share. Not to mention your branding Iron that I saw on another post!

Did someone say branding? ;D

While the Marlin 94 with the crossbolt safety was approved, the Winchester 94 in pistol calibers was not approved because of angle ejection which is a late 20th century modification....

If Aunt Mabelle still has her .44 Winchester M-1894 (built & bought in '74, I recollect), I may borrow it & use it in a match or two.
No problem wit' that.
