I went to an Estate sale for a friend that passed away about 2 months ago, He was a long time reloader, I was able to pick up an unopened 25 Lb. bag of #9 shot, 150 rounds of 9mm Ball ammo, 100 Rounds of .38 special 110gr +P+ jacketed controlled expansion rounds(Law enforcement only) 4 boxes of match grade .22 LR a box of 10 CCI .38/.357 Shot shells, a speedloader for a S&W J-Frame and a Savage Arms Four Tenner shotgun adapter for the low price of $146.00 I have to go back Saturday to help them price some remaining items, There is a good sized box of new .45 Colt brass there,I'm guessing maybe 400 + pieces.

That's a good deal, Major. I was given a few boxes of the those Law enforcement only rounds. The head stamps are WCC +P+ 84.

Gift ammo can be like Christmas morning (except for unknown reloads ::))
I was given two boxes of 45ACP...
one is Federal Syntech 205 grain, the other Remington Ultimate Defense.
Not quite sure I'll shoot these any time soon :-\
I also got two boxes of Fiocchi 32 ACP
and a box of Fiocchi 7.63 Mauser (think C96 pistol), These I will use save and reload.
In other news, todays visit to the friendly LGS, saw a WW2 era Remington 1911 slide on an Essex frame.
It had an aftermarket skeleton hammer, SS barrel, custom looking grip safety and an elongated and embellished slide lock....
Sadly, the slide had 4 holes drilled in the top for some sort of rail (not attached anymore)

I bought an essex frame "silver cup" cheap and turned it into a bullseye pistol with serious aftermarket parts, slide / frame fitting, barrel bushing tightening, trigger tuning and an awesome Bowmar Rib! Thanksgiving eve was very busy in produce at my Food Lion. Sold the most we ever had. Couldn't get caught up so I ran over an hour at closing [produce closes between 6-7pm while the store is open to 10 i think]. I'm liking my 3-4 day /week job. Good place to work part time if you don't need the money but I don't like how they do quasi full time folks. The store will cut the workers hours if sales drop off. Some of the gals are supporting families and need those hours. Hoping everyone had a good Turkeyday and are getting ready for Santa.

Here is blast from the past, currently Turner Network is running the "Flipper" series.
It was shot in Miami and the Keys by Ivan Tors, back in the early 1960's ( 1963-64 )
My Dad was the Coordinator Set Builder. I often got to hang out on Set at Ivan Tors' Studios in North Miami.
I was about 14 or 15 and hung out with Like Halpin, tossing a football or just BS'ing.
Years later, when I was building sets and art directing on "Miami Vice", Luke was bit parts player,
and electrician and working Special Effects.
I worked several other productions with Luke in the crew throughout our careers.

28 degrees here in NE NE, going on 48 and sunny. Frost this morning on the plowed field behind us initially looked like a dusting of snow in the dim light, but nope.
Spent most of the last week getting a cattle thief convicted. Jury finally found him guilty of a felony, although not as serious a felony as we'd charged. Still a win in the big picture. What time wasn't spent on that got spent on church pastoral search committee duties, an area where we also made a lot of progress.
Finally had some time yesterday for other things. Took my toddler to a local jewelry store, and was discussing various pieces with the saleslady and trying to stay within budget. A lady I've never met heard us, said she remembered being young with kids, and plopped a hundred dollar bill down in front of me telling me to buy my wife something really nice! Obviously, I did. I was blown away by her generosity to a total stranger.
After that I stopped at a pawn shop/gun store I've never been to before. There were a few cool old items like a Dreyse pistol, and a box of .41 rimfire labeled as "rifle ammunition" to get around restrictions. The gentleman let me handle a Colt 1902 even though I wasn't buying it. It did not feel nearly as awkward as I expected even with the long barrel. There was also a Winchester 1876 rifle on the wall, which came from the owner's father-in-law and isn't for sale. The gentleman did say he's looking for some .45-75 ammo, and we briefly discussed reloading. I plan to return there sometime.
Today we have the kids' Christmas pageant my wife is directing. She had to do some adapting yesterday when "Mary" (a key role) came down with strep throat, but she had an eager substitute willing to learn the lines. Hopefully all goes well today and it glorifies the One we celebrate.
Happy trails!

Some of the simplest home fixes can (try) beat the HE double toothpicks out of you.
For your Monday morning amusement, I submit my aluminum screen door lock !
Last week it jammed! would not open, the internal guts were askew, as in busted.
Not surprised, as it is soft cast aluminum, so I was able to pry it open,
disassemble and discard the locks guts. This took a bit of doing as not to snap off the hinged opener lever.
This did work, but the boss lady liked the lock feature, and instructed me to FIX IT !
(Me ?) I was perfectly happy with the simple closer latch sans lock guts, boss lady overrules!
So, off I go to the ACE Hardware , they have one but it is not like mine and would require redrilling holes and leaving the old holes as scars. not Ideal
Next was Home Depot... same same and besides being several bucks more of the cost of the assume correct one, I can order for Amazon (determined by the accompanying photo)
So, Amazon it was, even with shipping it was only $20... $9.49 + the 9.95 shipping :o $4 less than Ace & HD total cost with tax.
It arrived Saturday during our monsoon, and I might add the Amazon driver just threw it over the fence ::)
So, the new unit, it is the correct hole patten, but it has a nylon push button and plunger, and try as I did, it would stick in the pushed in position, the rod flexing out of position, and not even actuate the door catch.
I fussed with it about a frustrating hour... and finally used the new latch with its functioning internal lock and the old exterior handle and cast aluminum button and steel plunger.
It WORKS, "SHE" will be "eh! " Satisfied I assume. I'm pissed the damnable thing tried to beat me up.
a nap is in order ;)

I feel your pain Major! Sunday, we were doing laundry for the upcoming work week. Wife had a load in the front loading washer when it quit. Fortunately, i knew the issue. There is a filter on the bottom of the thing that if clogged the maching stops in its tracks. Problem is, it now has water in it and for me to get to it, I have to lay on the floor. Me and a bunch of towels get soaked for a lousy $0.37 in change that had blocked up the system. The bigger pain is getting it back together. Lots of colourful language, and it is done and the washer is fixed. Big problem. Now the dryer will not shut off. Only way to get it to stop spinning is to unplug it. Bigger problem, Chiefs are ready to kick off. I unplug it, trying to convince spouse it is a coincidence and I didn't even touch the dryer. Well, watching the game and youtube to find a fix. Found one, then a second one that had our dryer. Aparently the board relays get stuck. Eventually the board will need to be replaced, but a quick fix is to expose the board, whack the relays with the screwdriver, put it all back together and voila it should work. Wife was doubtful, but at halftime, I ran up, dissembled, whacked and reassembled. Voila, it works. Restores my faith in the internet and questionable fixes. Wife still thinks I did something but we were both appropriately dressed in clean clothing for the week and no expensive visits from repairmen. I did have my sweatpants at half mast to cover any union issues.
That's it, same same you DO understand :)
I had forgotten to mention the COLORFUL Language in my narrative.
I did notice flowering things nearby had wilted. ;)
Ha! We do not have kids, so filters were poorly developed. I have had moments that sent parents scrambling to get their kids indoors. Bad day mowing resulted in me losing it and the mower went flying across the yard with loud words. It was not one of my better moments. But very memorable moment to some neighbors.
We're still alive here, she's getting better and I am not as wore out but getting there.

If you are really lucky, the relay is a common one that can be replaced with a soldering iron.
Persistant effort will result in finding a compatible replacement.... Even if it means "dangling off the board"

Merry Christmas ya'll
Forgot how to use this forum. Hope you all doing well.
We are doing OK, Rita is doing better, she fell Sat afternoon coming in the house. but she landed on her butt on the second step and I got her up, she fell Wed at Drs office. I should have just left her on the step and called 911. I was carrying things in and had to put those down and pee real bad. Yeah another comedy of sorts. Surprised no one saw me go in and leave her. But she was actually alright or mostly.
Well I got her in without the cops showing up, but we got my BP up again so I got her settled and took nitro and real soon it was back to normal, HR did not go up so that's better, a 155 or so pulse is more dangerous than a 200/100 BP and for now easy to fix.
But she could not get up off the toilet by herself and at about 3 am I almost didn't so after a short discussion I called 911. She got gone and my BP was high again, but not as much.
Anyway I got to sleep about 9 when I was sure she was OK and texted/called people. Mostly slept yesterday between calls and texts.
Got up about 12 am because licky dog wanted out, food and water. I am drinking also because I might be a bit dehydrated.
Supposed to freeze and snow and will likely be icy and we both think if it does I should stay home. We will be fine, I have plenty of supplies, will rest up till she gets home.
If biopsy comes out good this week we should have it made or at least for a while.
