I have a Spencer carbine and am trying to determine what it is exactly. It is #13,523 on the reciever and the bottom of the barrel. It has a 6 groove barrel and no Stabler cutoff. The barrel is 20" and has no Model 1865 on it. It doesn't look like a home cutoff job and the front sight appears to be correct and in the correct position. Any thoughts? Maybe a transistion model between 1860 and 1865 models?

If you remove the forearm and look at the underside of the barrel, you should see the same serial # . . . photos would help.

I will check on your serial # just the same.
