Well I've lost track. There once was somebody offering Tiffany Style grips. I can't remember who it was. I am looking for a couple of sets for Pietta.
Got any ideas??

here is the only thing I could fing, from VTI
they need finifhing, and are for Uberti, but one might be able to mod the Pietta frame to fit
or 'thother way 'round.

Thems would be most exactly what I was looking for :D However the discovery comes with a certain amount of "Sticker Shock." :o I feel I should/must/will/have to forgo the acquisition. I fear a THOUSAND shekels to be "A Bridge too Far" :(

I know my many failures at it have increased my resolve to get it right...

What an absolutely FINE suggestion. Alas, Di Fucul tyes arise to mucky the option. As you see, our local branch office of The University Of Pennsylvania, Indiana University of Pennsylvania to be precise, pre China Plague, did in fact, offer classes in such endeavors as Stained Glass Breaking . . er . . making, Artful Welding, Glass Blowing and Basket weaving. With I believe, Jewelry making, to include casting Aluminum Ash Trays and Earrings and such.
Current offerings, however, are greatly reduced. You see, IUP as it is known, is known as primarily a "Party School" with "Chugging 101" on offer as well as swell Tailgating Sports . . like Football. The other Football = Soccer, accompanied by Graduate Level Chugging. Most other endeavors normally expected to be on offer have been placed on Hiatus. You know, those pesky STEM subjects to include such mundane (don't confuse with Greatdane) subjects as "English as a First Language).
I, therefore, suspect my education in casting Earrings will be also on Hiatus for the foreseeable future. Plus I'm currently short some scrap Brass. Oh Poo

Why not sand cast? Make a negative outa say wood then press it into the sand. Can get a close fit with the wood and minimize waste and fitting. Course all this depends on being good with wood ;D

The way to do it these days, involves a 3d printer to make the positive. Then, you makes your molds, and sell off surplus to cover the cost of printing the positive. There are folks happy to do the printing for you.

I was thinking the same thing... at first.
If one uses he cheapest PLA one can use the "lost foam casting" techniques since the PLA burn out fast somewhat similar to foam.
But then Tequila mentioned... old school sand casting!
Sure - carve your grips once in basswood
then ram it up and away you go! Make enough of em to sell to make up the cost.
Aluminum is cheap and back-yard-casting friendly.
One can even use ZAMAC - a zinc/aluminum alloy that has better flow, less porosity, and lower casting temps.
