Title: Winchester 94 AE .45 Colt Large Loop Lever Carbine
Post by: chucksolo1 on March 08, 2020, 04:51:41 PM
I just acquired a pristine Winchester as described in the subject of this topic. There are just a couple of minor dings in the stock and the rear sight elevtion adjustment is missing. I ordered one from Numrich arms and shouldg be here next week. The only thing I don't like about it is it has the unsightly cross bolt safety, but other than that, I like it. Any one shooting one of these in CAS?

can't put one up until Tuesday after next, because of the stupid California 10 day waiting period.  i will post one then.

Chuck, I shot a 45 Colt '94 Trapper (standard loop) for my first CAS rifle.  I'm sorry to say, and most will agree, it is a poor choice for CAS and can not be run fast.  Neat lightweight strong action carbine, it would be great for plinking or hunting.

I used to fold the saddle-ring over around the safety button (ring didn't flop around, stayed there pretty well) so that safety wouldn't accidently get pressed when I set the gun down on its left side.

Thanks Abilene, I plan to use it as a "fun" gun and perhaps a hunter for pig. I like the feel of the gun, really slim and handy.
