That's great! This should be pinned at the top of the Barracks board, with frequent reminders to the members!
Outstanding!
Cool

It is stickied, I will just need to remember to bump it every once in a while
Very cool! Especially since WPG is pretty much our go-to supplier now.
I clicked on the link and it goes straight to the WPG home page. I assume that there is some sort of dark magic going on that lets Jerry know?
That's my understanding
Used it twice now. Be interesting to see what it amounts to.
Good outfit.
I just checked our account and it is working.
As said before it is a small percentage, but it is working
BTW for you naval types, I see they now have Donald Ducks
Pitspitr,
You may want to ask Jerry Lee how we can get stuff through the WPG website instead of ebay. It seems as if a number of items go there first. Maybe something could be worked out?
Yes, I'm an American and I am impatient. >:(....... :P
I'm working on it. There's something on E-bay that I want to order through the website. It is my understanding that Jerry is away from the office today, but I am working on it.
Me too, General, Sir ....
I am a Facebook "friend" of Jerry's and he just posted that he has flown back from Dubai, so hopefully will be available for contact now, or very soon.
His website is soup sandwich. >:( I hate to say that because he is a great vendor but it is tough to find things on his site. I searched all through the 1876-1938 and could not find much of the Cavalry stuff listed on ebay.
I hope someone here is close enough to him to encourage an overhaul of the site. A pre 1902 section would help tremendously. Lots of stuff in ebay cart I am just waiting to find on his site to order.
I think most of it is in the 1878-1938 section of the American stuff. Sometimes he has stuff that's only on e-Bay. (I have no idea why.)
Quote from: Niederlander on April 14, 2019, 07:19:21 AMSometimes he has stuff that's only on e-Bay. (I have no idea why.)
Yep, I contacted him one time over one of the mounted Mills belts that was on e-bay. He told me that they were only on e-bay
Ok.... :(. I would prefer to order through the link and help this site but if it's only Ebay that won't help.
BTW Jerry now has a 5 button sack coat and the 1872 pleated blouse.
That pleated blouse is just plain ugly.

That pleated blouse is just plain ugly.
It is, however, "historically correct" as an issued garment. (I don't do US military impressions, but understand from a friend who does that, odd as it may appear, it is noticeably "non-restricting" and quite comfortable ... which of course was the whole reason for it in the first place.)
His reaction is also historically correct, ;D and one of the reasons the blouse only lasted 2 years!

Yes, it is!
(but I still want one someday to go with my "ugly" 1872 campaign hat)
I just received a shipment from WPG...from Dubai to my front door in 5 days. Not bad since it entered the US at Cincinnati and was stuck in Customs for over 24 hours. Received a pair of 1885 ("Saxony blue") trousers, Mills Belt, and brown leggings. All excellent quality. The trousers were already hemmed to length! Luckily, just the right length. Going to seamstress today to have NCO stripes applied.
Outstanding!

Yep, those are UGLY too. I found it somehow hilarious that I had a "historically correct reaction" to the UGLY 1872 Fatigue Blouse, but it was and still is UGLY.
I did get an Indian War Tin Cup from WPG that I swear weighs about 3x what a Stainless of the same size weighs.

I have ordered several items through and always found them to be quality pieces. I just received a M1910 Canteen w/ cup and aluminium cap. I also got the canteen cover with the rimless eagle snaps. I ordered a pistol belt with the eagle snap, but the snap does not work with the mag pouch or the 1917 half moon clip pouches. Other than the belt, everything else was great, especially the braided leather pistol lanyard.
BTT for 1899s on site.
It appears it is only available as "Enlisted"
Hi
True, but several of the Philippine Insurrection books sow officers wearing the falling collar because it was more comfortable. Going out house hunting for a while, I'll see if I can find and scan a copy tonight or tomorrow.
Later
It's not too difficult for a seamstress to convert a falling collar to a stand up collar, if you need to.
There's a picture around here somewhere, I think Ned posted it last year, of a large group of officers in the phillipines, all wearing 1899s, and 9 out of 10 of them have the falling collar. And a number have the shirt collar over the tunic collar as I recall.
I know Marines in World War 1 would wear the shirt collar over the standing collar to keep the rough wool from rubbing the neck raw. That's also the reason you'd wear a silk or linen shirt with a standing collar underneath the blouse with the standing collar.
Hi, I ordered the 1899 set, another cup, and an Indy shirt. Always wanted one of those. The size 40 pants got left off the site. They're on the way.
WPG has really good customer service in my opinion. Wajed does a good job.
Oh, I ordered another one of the Indian war cups, they're hell for stout and so far don't tarnish.

This site will be expensive... :'( :'(
..just got my first piece thru them. Got an 1874 Hazen cartridge loop off EBAY. He called it a second, so guess we can refer to it as Govt issue shoddy. It will serve my purpose. Ordered it Monday nite, got it today. Can't beat that. He has some nice gear. Pretty sure I will order more.
BTT

and reposted so folks will see what the reason for this post was
The new 1899 uniform Drydock bought from them looks pretty good.
Hi
Guess who has the 1880 Hunting knives in stock. I asked, and Jerry send the Indians (from India, Jeez) an original to copy. Ordered, but don't have it yet.
Later
Do you have a link to that? I cannot find it on the website
Thanks!
Hi
Look up "What Price Glory" or "1880 Hunting on Ebay. Not on my home computer or I'd just get the link.
Later
Ahh.....I was looking on his website. Thanks for the heads up.
I just started a thread on them.
What Price Glory comes through
For my Springfield 1911 or any other of the plethora of 1911's.
For Wild Bunch shooting a western influence holster is slick.
( but there is no WB shooting anywhere near me anymore :-\ )
I was looking for something a bit different than the US issue for possible future BAMM shoots.
With either an Lee Enfield MIII or an 03 Springfield an on occasion M1917 , a military style was needed .
I opted for a British issue Sam Brown holster for my 1911 from "What Price Glory"
Nice.
Slim
Here is my version of a fantasied rig, the idea is Para military circa 1911-1916.
The belt is from Dell Leather Works and both the McKeever Box & holster are from WPG....
The box is looped for 30 Cal. 30/40 , 30-06 or 303 Brit. depending on which bolt gun I am using.
Presently, I'll use a web 1911 Magazine pouch , but may get a leather 1912 pouch
WPG sure has a lot of good stuff on ebay right now.
