Title: Kirst Konverter
Post by: Dick Dastardly on July 19, 2018, 09:24:31 AM
My Pietta 1860 Colt open tops have Kirst Konverter cylinders and ejector rods.  The Konverter ring is being replaced at no charge by Walt Kirst.  "This is a warranty replacement for a very early 2000's (one of the first production Colts)" wrote Walt Kirst.  This is typical of the kind of warranty service you can expect from Kirst.

Wow,  that is an amazing effort to keep customers happy.  I wish that wasn't so uncommon.

Kirst products are very well made with good materials.  My guns are quite old.  I use them for SASS matches.  My cartridges are Cowboy 45 Special with 1.3cc FFFg Holy Black under Big LubeĀ®LLC J/P 45-200 bullets lube sized with PL-II.  These guns fit my large hands very well and I shoot 'em Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter.  No, I'm not the fastest but I don't miss many.  It's not uncommon for me to shoot clean.  The Kirst Konverter cylinders and ejector rods really make these old guns a joy to shoot.  Thank you Walt Kirst for your great support.

Walt Kirst's Customer Service is second to nobody.  Excellent products to begin with.  Usually .... never a problem.

However, On a personal side, I shoot Cap Guns with 3 1/4 barrels Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter.  I don't miss too many neither.

The new Konverter ring is here!  Fits fine.  The new plate has a screw instead of the old rivet.  The gate is perfect.  Thanks Walt Kirst!

My son has a Uberti / Remington cap and ball revolver. I am going to give him a cartridge conversion kit for Christmas. I now know what manufacturer it will be from.
