Title: Miruko '92 1/2 oct short rifle...any around?
Post by: frimath on November 30, 2017, 10:03:27 AM
I seem to remember not that far back that Winchester ( current production) had a 1/2 rd 1/2 oct short rifle , maybe a 16", in 45LC with a crescent stock. I haven't seen one around or available and have been trying to track one down. I went to their website and they have it listed as a "past production" so I know I haven't lost my mind but they just don't seem to exist! Any help tracking one down would be appreciated! Thx

I also remember seeing a Winchester advert that pictured a '92 Short Rifle with a 1/2 & 1/2 barrel.  I don't know of anyone who actually had one or even if they were even produced for sale.  Perhaps just that one to cause the '92 fan community to salivate.  Continuing to think about it, it may well have been a Miruko built '73.  My memory is actually shot, so don't quote me.

When I was still a practicing Gunplumber, I built two Chiappa rifles  into 18 inch 1/2 & 1/2 rifles.  I'd like to have a Chiappa take down and cut it to an 18inch short rifle.  Twould be fun.

Don't Chiappa still make their 20" short rifle?

Yes.  Not a half-n-half 20"
