More aesthetic than practical for sure.

Even were it 44 Henry Central Fire, I still couldn't afford it.  That is one way KOOL rifle.  Wish they had included a good photograph of
the Butt Stock.  With the original finish in that good condition, I'd just like to drool all over the stock finish.  I'd also like tone able to find a set of those ferules used on the cleaning rod.  I'd be on my lathe in a Heart Beat.  OH WELL.

I do wonder however, why the bayonet lug for a rifle never sold into martial service.  Obviously maintained as a "you can look but don't touch" item in someone's gun room.  It would also be super cool to find a nice bayonet for it (were it a martial rifle).  It obviously has
been frequently dusted and kept clean.  I'd be wiling to bet it's also unfired. (sigh)

But a few more than 1,700 were bought by the U.S. Gov't for service.

99.999999% of people buying AR15's today will never use the bayonet, or the rest of the 'tacticool' crap they slap on one.  ::)   ;)
