I have Dave Steier directions for building a gun cart. He lists Northern Tools as one source for the wheels. Does anyone have other sources for cart wheels?
Also is there another name the tires are known by on the market other than "cart wheels"?
Thanks

Just about any Farm & Home store should carry them. 20 inch solid rubber tire with a spoke rim. Give Menards a shot, think I've seen them there also.

Logan,
Most wheels from this time period are bound with Iron, commonly referred to as "tires".
Wheel construction can be rather complicated with the methods of construction and materials used during that construction.
I would recommend finding a "wheelwright" to make your wheels, providing you want them to be historically correct in there construction.

Thank you.

OK for SASS, but NCOWS has rules limiting wheels to metal & wood.
P.S; Not to draw a line in the sand, completely needlessly, but to encourage our Pards to check their organization's rules before investing too much time & money.

Sir Charles
Excellent point from two approaches to answering a question!
I like to address the historical issues first. What ever modern alternative, the original poster choses to do after that, is purely up to them and their idea of authenticity.

hp246,
These are as is said, "decorative" pieces.
I would not suggest using them for a guncart.

Not everyone has access to a wheelwright. They are a start to work with.

hp246,
Use what you find is best for the organization you shoot within.
That is only my suggestion for you.
