1:00 p.m. yesterday we got the keys and signed the final paperwork, escrow closed, and the sale has been registered.
Spent the rest of the day tearing down some built in shelving, removing baseboards, patching nail holes, and generally cleaning up a lot of odds and ends.
Flooring / carpeting guys are coming today to measure, we're moving a ton of stuff over from the place we're tenting, replacing shower heads, painting a couple of walls, and moving more stuff.
Furniture being delivered on Saturday, so we will have OUR STUFF in the house (MY BED!!!!!) and we can start getting some serious organizing done.
TV, phone, and computer hook up slated for the 27th so we won't be cut off from the world. It's been very frustrating and infuriating have an unreliable antiquated system with very poor computer and TV and no phones.
Have to get Culligan to set us up and reroute some exterior plumbing, put in a functioning yard watering system and build some fences, remove a couple of dozen trees, shrubs, bushes, and other assorted growth and get the yard acceptable.
Add in routing mail change, lots of people notifications, putting in new lighting, organizing things where we want them to be, etc. and we have whole new career.
Still have a couple of months of work in side and out before we can even sit bak and relax for a day, maybe two.

Hey, Forty Rod, . . . congratus to you and yours.
We did that back in '96, . . . New Year's Eve, . . . woke up 1997 in our own new home, . . . the one we built.
Fast forward alomst 20 years later, . . . you sound like me, . . . or I sound like you, . . . making all sorts of changes, . . . and more to come this winter.
But I am really glad for you, . . . apartment living is for the birds IMHO, . . . nothing beats YOUR OWN PLACE. Paint it chartruse with a purple stripe if you want, . . . carpet one room, . . . sand on the floor in the next, . . . sawdust in the dining room, . . . it's yours to do what you want to do.

Still Uncertain. We're a room short, but have a huge family / Arizona room that may get the treatment, at least at one end.
Had to give up one bookcase in the den and it may move over to accommodate some things.

So now that your out here on the left coast, have you checked out any of the So Cal shooting clubs? There are a lot of great people and places to shoot out here. One you might be interested in looking into is the oldest CAS clubs ever. "The Cowboys", they are in Norco and have some of the best shooters there are. They are a stones throw from you. In fact, there holding the "the gun fight behind the Jersey Lilly" this coming weekend. Lots of great folks to chew the fat with and do some shooting with out here. Happy to have you, W. L. ;)

I lived 15 miles from The Cowboys in Norco for over 37 years, my home club since I first joined. Shot at most of the clubs at least once in that time.
Not likely I ever will again.

So it is YOURS ! ? . . or is it. ? Is it paid for ?
I have two . . . one I built from scratch in the early 1970s. . . . laid the foundation with rocks from the creek . . . . laid all the logs myself . . . . lived in it . . . still have it . . . :)
. . and the one on 5 acres that I bought for cash 2 1/2 years ago . . .and am I the processed of finishing this winter . . . . and they are MINE.
. . . . . . AND WHEN I SAY "mine" . . I mean PAID FOR. :)

This is our last night in the rental because we finally found all of the master bedroom stuff and got a new carpet laid today. By noon tomorrow we'll be ready to have the place inspected and sign out.
