Did not want to hi-jack the Cherokee thread. I made my own Botas, thanks to Chuck Burrows for posting the pattern and some great pics. I have always liked the look and they go a long way to hide my inexpensive boots. I picked up some leather from our local Tandy's that was on sale, dug through the pile till I found two pieces that had no holes that would show when wrapped. All told the whole set up cost me ~$45, about half of it in brass

Those are cool looking botas, Mogorilla. I've always admired the style.

Mogorilla very nice looking botas. Is there 3 or 4 conchos on the side?
-
It has three on the side and then a tie at the top. Doesn't show well, but I have some bone beads and brass cones on the ends of the ties. I jingle lots when I walk.

Hi All,
Just to mention, for us scaredy-cats afraid to venture out, the Possibles Shop carries a pattern for several items, on of them being a pair of 'botas (or breed leggings' as they were called up north) ...it is part of group called FRONTIERSMAN LEATHER ACCOUTREMENTS and sells for less than $8.00 ... I have not begun making them 'cause I have a set a leathermaker has promised to make for me for over two years ... but I do have that plan when I finally give up ... *S
