Title: Kirst .22LR conversion for '58
Post by: Abilene on January 20, 2011, 10:03:02 PM
At Shot Show today Walt Kirst dropped off at the Cimarron booth a sample of a new .22LR conversion for the '58 Remmie.  There is a squarish block with a "barrel" on it that I estimate to be about 2" long that fits inside the existing barrel, plus the cylinder itself.  Fun, cheap plinking with a '58  :)

I took a picture of the barrel thingie, will get around to posting it when I have time.  Perhaps Raven will post some info on it.  I'm assuming this is a new product.  New to me, anyway.

Abilene.......

This has been a project in the works for quite some time!
Walt and Jay based it on a "tool room" 22 conversion from Remington.
There are/were three known samlpes and they have one in their posession.

This is really a neat, comletely DROP IN 22 for practice and plinking and it's accuarte too!

I will have a production sample to show ya'll by mid week.

Here is the barrel adaptor portion of the conversion.  I didn't even take the cylinder out of the box but I think it might be shorter than standard Remmie cylinders to allow for the barrel adaptor.

We are finishing up the first run of .22 converters and should have them available for sale in a couple of weeks.....got to take pictures, get them on the web store and finish packaging.

They are a virtual drop in ( we've had them in 20+ Guns and only had one that needed any fitting 8)) will be available for Pietta or Uberti and .36 or .44 caliber revolvers.
They will also work in Brass frame revolvers!!!

Retail will be $290 ( think about that as 290 rounds of .45 about pays for it )

What a neat idea. Any thoughts of doing it on the Colt platform? Is it gated?

You should get a table at the NCOwS convention in March.  I think you will sell several and it doesn't take much to cover the cost of a table.
