I'll expand a little on this event.

The idea was to expand the shooting experience of the local SASS shooters and introduce them the slightly different style of shooting that is practiced by NCOWS.

So along with the Safety Meeting there will be a brief synopsis of NCOWS rules.  A sort of NCOWS 101.  It is the plan to do a little myth busting without any preaching.

The stages will be written and set-up by the NCOWS Judge.  They will be shot with a 10 second miss penalty; which the biggest difference on the range between the two organization.

The, slightly, more strict clothing guidelines will be expained, but not enforced.

We'll endeavor to eliminate some misconceptions.

You can use your Ruger Vaquers. (but not Blackhawks or the Bisley version.)
You don't have to shoot blackpowder.
You can use two hands to shoot pistols.
Gun carts are legal.

Ask away if you are intersted and have questions.

NCOWS rules, so "Working Cowboy" OK?  Round Count?
Sounds like fun.
Haven't shot much this year, will try to make it.  If I can only remember where PCC range is... I know! Check kansascas.com!

All went well and we had 21 shooters. We shot 5 fun and challenging stages.

The concept was so well recieved that we will probably be doing more of these NCOWS rules matches at the Powder Creek Cowboys range.  Stay tuned for more information.
