Title: Wildfire News
Post by: Charlie Bowdre on February 08, 2009, 08:44:33 PM
Hi folks
I know this might be a bit off topic but I have to extend my prayers to all those who have suffered in the terrible wildfires burning  in Australia.

National news gives the toll at over 100 deaths.

Hope all our pards and families are well .
God Bless

Thanks for your thoughts, we live in one of the dries country in the world and at this moment it is flooding up top end of Queensland and burning in bottom end in Victoria, and where I live in the middle of it all. It's raining here after a couple of weeks of extreme heat wave conditions.

Thanks for all your concerns.

They are saying that there is 180 confirmed deaths at this time with the likely hood of it reaching 300. :o :'(

Some of these fires have been deliberately lit and I hope they catch the SOB's as it is tantamount to MURDER.

There are times I am sorry they did away with Capital punishment.

Thanks for your prayers and kind thoughts. The poor souls affected by all this need them.

As a side note, my mother and sister live no more than 20 km away from some of these in the town of Seymour and have been put on alert.

We can only hope that the weather changes for the benefit of all concerned and eases the pressures that have been put on them.

The greenies (one of the political parties here in Aus) also have to bear some of the responsibilities for all this. They have prevented the back burning of the dead fall and this has also contributed to the firestorms that have resulted. I had better get off that soap box as it is a pet of mine and could get me into trouble.

Thanks to all for the concern.

Regards
