I ain't much on TV but ever once in a while a good show comes along.
Big Bang Theory is one to watch. IMHO, YMMV
It's ah knee slapper.
-
if you just want to have a really good belly laff, it's the show to watch. ;D
-
I'll look fer it, but in the mean time what is YMMV?
Remember folks, the only stupid question is the one that don't get asked. :P
Leo
-
Leo, it's on local channel, it's on tonight, you may be able to catch it, if you check the channels. it's a sure nuff good en tonight. ;D
-
the YMMV is your mileage may vary, I think anyway. ;D
-
I You Tubed some clips.
Now I can openly say that I am no longer ashamed to admit that I enjoy watching The Family Guy.
To each his own ;)
Leo
-
I like them shows that all ya gotta do is laff at it, just feels good sometimes ;D a fella needs a good laff every day.
-
That is fer certain OT. Me an Lil share a like sense of humor, and I love it when we get ta laughin so hard we can't even talk. Makes us feel about 10 years younger.
When we first met we were in a room full of people watchin a George Carlin video an the two uf us looked like complete idiots fer all the laughin we were doin. It was actualy painful, but in a good way.

been watching Peacemakers on hulu provided by my internet provider. Dirty Jobs and Myth Buster are the other 2 I watch, and not faithfully Mike Rowe cracks me up
-
Roo, there is a site called Fancast that lets anyone with any IP watch Hulu shows and movies. They got everythin from vintage shows ta new stuff. I been usinin it fer awhile and it appears ta be safe. They actualy had a whole season of Alias Smith and Jones on there. There are commercials, but they're only about 10 ta 15 seconds apiece. It's perty neat.
Leo
-
yep that's how I watch 'em nice can watch 'm when I want too...... They also have, Have Gun Will Travel....Paliadin
-
I'm hopin' that they will come with more of the old TV Westerns on DVD.
-
All the ones just mentioned are available. I've watched some of the first seasons of Have Gun Will Travel and Wanted: Dead or Alive. I've got Alias Smith and Jones in my Netflix list.

I always enjoyed that show. It came out right after I was laid up with a broken leg and had no access to my movies or books. It was very welcome, but I hated that I had to wait another week for it to come back.
I had never heard of Hulu. Thanks for the tip. I'm going to bookmark that site for sure!
-
Here's another tip.
Through Fancast you can download an add on fer ABC Full Episode Player. Shure it's only ABC shows but they are in much higher resolution than average Hulu. We watched the latest Boston Legal Thanksgiving episode tanight. It buffers a lot in the first minute or so then runs real smooth on full screen. You have ta click ta continue after the commercials, but it's worth it.
Watched some Have Gun Will Travel earlier (fergot how much I loved that show) an if Lil an CJ go shoppin tanight I might view an episode or two of the original Terlit Zone while they's gone. Those are just on the regular player.
Might as well throw the TV out the window, it has become obsolete.

Leo, After February, you may have to.
-
That's OK Pop. I already terminated my sattelite service a month ago, so I won't be missin much. They kep raisin the price every month an when it hit 80 bucks I waved goodbye.
Leo
-
Just get a subscription to Netflix and watch all the old shows on DVD.
-
Two more fer the folks usin Fancast/Hulu I found in the movie section.
First one was from 1955 called Five Guns West. Good plot an it aint too long. Confederate army is gettin hard up fer men an pardons 5 criminals sentenced ta hang ta go get some Yankey gold fer em.
The other was Return of a Man Called Horse. I aint much fer sequels, but this one had the same actors in the key roles as the original and was surprisingly good. I had just watched the original a couple months ago so the story was fairly fresh in ma mind.
Leo
-
Leo, That;s one of the first movie I remember seeing Mike Connors(Mannix) in.
-
TLD, that's like the old movies channel, I can turn over there and a lot of them I remember seein when they were brand new.
don't seem that long ago. ;)
-
OT, It has been a long time. It's hard for me to admit though. I got an e-mail from one of my old friends from college last week and we were talkin' about school. It had been 42 years since we enrolled in college. I know you'tr glad that the bird movin' is almost done.
-
"God's Soldier" on the Military Channel,
another hit for "MythBusters"
and definitely have to check this one out, they're crazier than the guys on Mythbusters...
"Weapon Masters" it's amazing!! it's sooo awesome! heheheh
-
I remember the Myth Busters where they built a cannon out of a log an fired it. If I remember right, it worked.
Leo
-
Those "Myth Busters" guys are unique folks. They take "Inquiring Minds" to the next level.
-
heck yeah they do!
seriously if y'all like mythbusters you need to check out weaponmasters on Military Channel, it's guys liking to blow stuff up even more than the mythbuster guys!
-
Engineers and EOD people live to blow stuff up. I got to do some of that in the Army and Law Enforcement.
-
Somethin special about blowin things up :D
Was at the outdoor range one day an after a clear, a guy next ta us says, "we just set some "reactive" targets out there so try not ta hit em." Well ta me "reactive" targes usualy means the black ones that turn flouescent green where ya hit em. I went about shooting ma own targets. All of a sudden the guy yells "FIRE IN THE HOLE". KA-BOOM!!! The friend I was shooting with almost had a heart attack. It was like a claymore ;D

I remember when I was about 4 or 5 before startin school anyway, my granddad bought a 40 acre spot and it had a lot of trees on it, he farmed so he got some dynamite and he my uncle dug holes down beside the trees, put a charge in the hole and one by one hooked up a blasting cap to one of them boxes with the T handle you push down and get a boom, I can remember them lettin me shove the handle down and blowin them trees and stumps out, man I thought that was Cool. ;D
4th of July just never was the same.
-
Back in the early 70s I was working in Dallas County. We got a call to down on the Trinity to check out some old dynamite that some kids had found. They had a flood over there and a lot of stuff wound up in the river, including an old wooden box of Dynamite. Dallas County SO had their own Bomb guy. He met us at the scene. He loaded it into his bomb trailer and took it an old gravel pit. He asked if any of us had any experience with explosives. I told him that I had in the Army, he he volunteered me to help him. We wired it up and shot it off. He told me I could be his assistant until he retired in a couple of years, then I could be the "Bomb Guy". I decided to pass on that. It was fun setting it off but I would not like to defuse a bomb.
-
Werked the bomb dog a l’il. Was kindah glad when the CO K-9 convinced the third floor the program wasn’t werth continuin’ due to lack of utilization.
-
I think that my hands would sweat too much for that kind of work.
-
Damned dog was dangerous. If he didn’t get his discovery reward as soon as he indicated he’d swat/nose at the object.
-
That's not good. That's not my idea of an "early retirement".
-
Damned dog was dangerous. If he didn’t get his discovery reward as soon as he indicated he’d swat/nose at the object.
Ya think they woulda pulled him from the program the first time he pulled that. Don't know many folks who'd let their future come down ta whether er not they had a dog treat immediatly at the ready. Can just imagine some poor soul reachin in his pocket an realizin he left the milk bones in the van. That's skeery.

You wanna make sure that don't ever happen!
-
Big Bang Theory on tonight at 8 EST, 7 CST
-
I've never watched that show.
-
I've never watched that show.
::)

::)
ROFLMAO!!!!!
-
Arcey, I saw VT win their bowl game on my new TV.
-
USC won again, jeesh they're like the new "florida teams" of the 90s... I'm so sick of it out here. "whoaaa, USC USC!!!" I mean my friends went to school there right, for the football, got what they wanted and jetted out. They told me it was like high school all over again. One loved it for that (he was like a god there) the other, his best friend, did it just for the football and a great education.
-
I'm not a big USC fan, but they looked hard to beat, except for that bad snapon a punt in the 4th quarter. I think they should playing Florida for the National Championship instead of OU.
-
flat out, there should be a playoffs. period.
like two more weeks. my dad thought it would be cool to have the college championship during the weekend between the conference championships and the super bowl. I agree, Dec-Jan would become to us football fans what October is to baseball!
-
Dern, I think WD might enjoy the beer racin an football thread ;)
Leo
-
beer racin an football thread?
LOL
oh boy.
nah, I'm actually kind of over football if you can believe that. I'd be a great hs coach. just tired of the drama with college and pros, so I just watch hs games on FSN.
-
I was plannin' on being a HS coach when I got out of college. Wound up being in the Army for a while and then Law Enforcement. I planned to teching History and coaching baseball and football.
-
LOL!
isn't it funny how we all want the history part? only good class there is to teach!
my sophmore teacher, God bless him, had us at the beginning of the semester answer:
"why do we teach history?"
at the end of the semester for the final:
"why do we teach history?"
that's all he cared about, but he was an awesome teacher. Got out of that sesspool of a school after receiving his masters and is now a temp at a local university. Inspired me to no end.

Tha new "Knight Rider" is as sorry as tha original!

-
The TransAm is replaced with a Muskrat.
-
LOL
too bad they couldn't use that new Camaro huh? Really expensive to do still and the 500KR is an amazing machine... too bad it's from the evil blue oval group! I think Kitt as a new Challenger would look top notch too, just not really the Mustang, but I gotta say they make it work with what they've got.
-
no matter what the car... the acting S**KS!
-
The TransAm is replaced with a Muskrat.
:o would be kinda cool if he moved his little lips when the cars talkin. ;)
-
Spin off on my mother the car, lower case intended. Brain rot.
Bro, ya should ah known the actin' was gonna suck 'fore ya turnt it on. I knew it 'n I didn't watch it.
-
I watch it for the car, always have always will. It's like the Bond movies, I don't watch them to learn anything, nothing at all! I just watch them to be entertained. I suspend disbelief pretty easily, so yeah, if I hit mute, I can stand the acting... why? the car.
-
Ever think 'bout turnin' off tha TV an' jist starin' at tha freeway Willie? ::)
You can see all kinda cars an' not ruin yer eyesight.
-
Bro. Sleep, I'd rather get eye strain from watchin' that AR video on Youtube.
-

just so he didn't take his rifle to clean it down there by the freeway, we'd be seein a news flash on CNN,
"SNIPER CAPTURED" ;D
-
OT, That might not be so strange because It's California!
-
Don’t know how folks live without it. I mean, like, WOW, bitchin’, Oh MY God, kewl. Did ya hear the dialog? He went like then other guy goes............ They rule!
The car hits a curb in the chase, man, flips, like, in the air ‘n catches on fire! Just like a real life video game. It was just too f------ kewl! I mean, like, it was, like, kewl ‘n the same as last week! I’m gonna go hang at the mall now.
Borin’.
Try finding three or four good history or current events books ‘n read ‘em. ‘The Fair Tax’ would be a good start.
-
LMAO!!
geez you guys know when I'll be online now huh? LOL
yeah, if I even remotely brought out my SIG 552 there'd be new choppers everywhere... that's one reason why I'm moving to Az today, for good! ;)
and don't worry about me looking out at the freeway (also known as the 91 parking lot).
I drive a 1969 El Camino SS, and I own a couple project cars with my dad that'd make the Duke boys jealous! It's just that's a 500KR, and 500KRs are hard to find on the freeways, even if my elky can beat them off the line!
-
I'm going shoppin now ta find a complete boxed set of A-Team episodes an mailin em ta ya all ::)
-
WAY KEWL, DOOD!
Please send mine unopened. I save ‘em for gift exchanges I go to.............
-
I love it when a plan comes tagether.
-
Doan bother Leo....
"If it ain't tha DOOK it's garbage."
Never mind who said it, his IQ was lower than his tooth count... even when he lost some teeth! ::)
-
Well said Bro. Sleep! Fer Sure! Fer Sure!

I think it's funny to watch YOUNG idiots, hafta think that way to be a teacher for 30+ years....
I sure ain't gonna spend my time watchin' ah talkin' car.........
-
can't hardly wait fer the new one on Monday, remote killer robots :o
-
I hated the original Knight Rider even as a kid. No interest in the new one. There was another show on at same time I liked called Tales of the Golden Monkey. Kinda an Indiana Jones type a deal. I don't think any station reruns that one.
Thanks fer the reminder Sleep, it just seemed ta slip ma mind bout that other show ;D
-
The guy flew an old grumman seaplane "Cutter's Goose" and had a dog named Jack that had an eye patch. I saw on of those planes used in the show at a restoration hangar at Kissimmee airport.
