Post by: Marshal Halloway on December 10, 2007, 07:49:44 PM

Howdy '76 fans.

Tomorrow, I plan to have an interview with Richard Pumerantz at Ten-X for this week's Cowboy Action Radio.

If you have any questions you want to pass on to him, let me know.

Evening, Marshal.

Great opportunity!

I have some based on some discussion that has been held so far. :)

1.  What are the operational/design limits for the Uberti and Chaparral rifle.  20,000psi has been rumored.

2.  Where are they getting their smokeless load data?  Powder they are using?

3.  What kind of pressure testing have they done with the smokeless ammo.

4.  What's the latest news on brass availablity?

5.  Are both Uberti and Chaparral using the same chamber dimensions?

Now I know that some of this may be a "trade secret," but we could all benefit from anything he is willing to share.

Tell Richard he's invited to visit with us!  And please let Richard know how much his support is appreciated. :)

Thanks!

Email correspondence from Nicola Nauti, Chaparral Arms to me,  Brescia, 06 September 2007:

"That means that the gages that we check the rifles is go 0,062, not-go 0,069"

Question to ask:
TenX 45-75 cartridge rim thickness is 0.057" .... Does TenX have any plans to have Bertram (or ?) make their cartridges to the specification that Chaparral gauges their 45-75 rifle's head space to?

Howdy Cowboys
What about the 45-60 . The Rifle I have shoots Ten-X ammo with no trouble . And it's lots of fun to shoot but not to pack .

I would ask him to discuss his reloading service which I have used and found to be great.

Sir

Your best bet (simplest method) would be to buy some Starline 50 Alaskan and size them in your  45-75 dies. Use Imperial sizing lube and go partial then extract, lube (sparingly both times) and size the rest of the way. You can also use 348 but there is more work involved necking up and blowing out than this way!

Good luck!

HOOOOF  HEEAARTED;   (Gotta say it reeaal sloooow!)

I have a 100 brand nw .348 cases, and CH4D expanders to make the conversion.  I have a handfull ready to load when the holidays are over and weather improves.  Just thought I could find a short cut to completed cases!  Importing ammo has to be brokered commercially, and small lots of cases, under $100 value are possible but inefficient.  STARLINE has an agent in Toronto who focusses on the IPSC types so far.  He doesn't order until he can make it profitable either.
