First comes to mind is Larry Romano of Romano Rifle Works in upstate New York. This should put you in contact with him:
Larry Romano , Romano Rifle Company, 551 Stewarts Corners Road, Pennellville, NY 13132. .

John,

If you want to reach Larry Romano, your best bet would be to call him directly - he is very slow to respond to Emails - give him a call and tell him what you need;  you will have to send him your Spencer for him to have a close look and price it out; expect a long wait time.

The lock is not complicated. Your best bet is to find a local COMPETENT gunsmith who has worked on muzzleloaders (not In Lines) as he should be able to do it easily. The problem is that there aren't many of these guys left in the country. Contact your nearest local ML group.

Also check with Track of the Wolf and Dixie to see if they know of anyone.

Alhmans in Morristown, MN has worked on REALLY old items in the past.
