The 1862 Pocket Police is basical a scaled down '60 Army, made in .36 cal instead of .44 ??
I know im a broken record, but I think the 'next' revolver I purchase will be a '62 PP to shoot along-side my '60 Army.
Now, this is a personal question and I know i'll get varied answers,,but here goes,,,
Would 'you' spring the funds for a set of 'tru-ivory' grips on a Pocket Police or take them same funds (once aqquired) and put tru-ivory on the '60 Army ?
I found a pic on a auction/antique broker of a PP with iovry grips and I dream about it folks !
What I need to do really is this,,,I have now more than one Cimarron and Ubertis,,,and I need variety in grips anyways. Got a SAA that I want to put 'colt rubber' grips on 'cause they is comfortable to handly in shootin' events.
Nuffin wrong with Ubertin grips,,actually that red is so 'period right' is awesome. Still all of a fellas guns shouldnt be twins, ya know.

My wife hasnt actually called it gun porno, but I know that is what she is thinking!! I personally think Tru Ivory grips would work well on either gun. I would suggest getting the slightly aged though as the "non-aged" look almost like plastic and I dont think that would look good on any gun. I actually put Tru-Ivory slightly aged on both of my USFA SAA and they look fantastic. Ok just my contribution to the gun porno club. Safe shooting. Deadeye.

Deadeye, yea,,the slightly aged I think knocks off that 'snowball plastic' look myself.
Did you purchase your grips and do them or have USFA do them?
Can you purchase tru-ivory other than the gun manufactureres?

Yes, USFA did the grips for me. They are perfectly fit and look great. I think Cimarron may offer Tru Ivory grips also but I am not sure. The lighting could be better, but you get the idea.

Got another question,,and I cant tell by any of the pics on websites,,but is the Cimarron/Uberti '62 Pocket Police in the shorter barrel carry a fluted cylinder? The long barrel one does for sure, I just cant tell about the 5 1/2" barrel offerning. It 'looks' to be solid/rebated without flutes, and the longer one with flutes, but I just can not tell postitive.

I am not sure about the fluted cylinder. I would suggest calling Cimarron (assuming you can get through) and asking about it. Hopefully, you will actually get a knowledgable person on the other end to talk to. If you dont have luck with Cimarron I would try Tammy at Taylors. She is usually reachable and very nice to deal with. Yes those are USFA premium SAA, both in 45 colt. I carry them in a double El Paso #44 rig with the Sheriffs model in cross draw and the 5.5 inch in right hand straight hang. Now thats PACKIN!! Safe shooting. Deadeye.

Howdy Deadeye and Deadwood: the Uberti Police ; 1862 is a fiveshot pistol with a half fluted cylinder, no matter the barrel length.
It is a nice little pistol, i. e. Colt pocket frame, and you will love shooting it.
