I picked up my new-to-me 10 ga SxS yesterday. I loaded up a BP round with 2 1/4 oz (by volume) FFg Goex, .125" overpowder card, .5" fiber wad. Tried to put 2 1/4 oz of shot on top. I had shot rolling all over the bench. I tried 2 oz with the same result. So, I poured enough shot out to get an overshot card on it. I will back the powder to 2 oz so I might be able to get 2 oz of shot in the shells. I put a water jug out 'bout 15 yds and pulled the trigger. The water jug was obliterated. :o I love my new street howitzer. ;D

Did something similar to my non-CAS Ithaca 12 gauge. Put a barrel on it as short as the law will allow, with no choke, then swapped out the wood for a Choate folding stock with a pistol grip. Took it out to the woods to see how it would shoot like that. Set up a small watermelon on a stump and shot it, from the hip! The melon went "KA-BLEWIE!" I think the largest piece of melon that was left was about the size of a quarter.
Yep, got me a new "house gun."
:D

Ain't it fun blowing up things with these? ;D The barrels on it are 32" with F/F chokes.

Aye, it is fun! And for ten minutes, my son, who had watched, was in awe of me.
Priceless.

I will bring it along for those "special" stages that require a 10 ga, like the ones with swinging targets. I want to see it I can make em spin. ;D

I loaded 30 rounds of 2 oz last night. I am ready for Mississippi Fandago. Now, I have to load some nitro loads for pheasant and crow hunting. :D

A man after my own heart, load those bird loads up stout, I hate chasing pheasants on the ground... :D

Me too. I am thinking either 2 or 2 1/4 oz of #5 should do it. ;D

I always used Winny Super XX #4's when I used one. Why the XX, cause they don't make a XXX. ;D
Just kill the bird dead while it is in the air and have a good Lab just in case. I never had ta chase them after I learned the right way ta hunt Chinese Chickens. I thought I tolt ya how ta kill the WW. ;D

That is for sure. They tend to laugh at me alot. :(

They don't laugh from the inside of a dutch oven, being covered with bacon takes all the humor out of them.
Don't read this Buck.

Just had pheasant "on glass" last night for supper. ;D
