Loops for 16 Gauge
« on: May 19, 2006, 01:56:10 PM »
Looking to make a cartridge belt for my new sweet 16 and am looking for help on the loop measurements...both single and double as I haven't decided which way to go.

The spacing on the loop leather and on the belt would set me straight.  Also, how wide do you folks make the loop leather???

Thanks in advance!

I do not have my measurements handy but will try to get back later.  I use 6/7oz leather in 1" width for shotshell loops.

Im sorry to break my word pard but I searched everywhere for my old measurements sheet without luck and do not have any 16ga shells available to obtain the measurements for you.  The process is somewhat easy and someone actually had a puter site with illustrated instructions on how to do loop layouts.  Hide Crafters carries a book called YEEHAA that does a great job of illustrating the process and even goes a step beyond by showing how to make a little assembly strap to speed the measureing process.
