Does any one made embroidered Crossed Rifles for Hats and Caps??

In a previous life I was a CPT of Infantry.  Want to be a character who is an infantry officer during a period where the branch color was infantry blue (so my actual shoulder boards are correct) and the branch insignia was crossed rifles.  That makes the period 76 - 85 or post 1902

Ideally 6th infantry insignia, but just plain crossed rifles would work

I've been "making due" with a M-1874 type III meat can for about 20 years. I keep looking for a M-1872 but so far the only one I've found was over $500 and was rusted out, making it unsuitable for boiling my coffee in.

We're not re-enactors, or even un-dead historians.  I've never seen two people at a Muster portraying the same unit, so uniformity is a non issue.  We, for all intents and purposes, took the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting and converted it into a sport where we shoot battle rifles and suitable handguns at steel targets instead of only lever action, pistol caliber rifles and single action pistols.  We do it in military garb because that's what we prefer to play the game in.  We're not going to turn into "Stitch-Nazis" because it drives everyone but the anal retentives off in short order.  (Why do you think the General Miles Marching and Chowder Society doesn't exist anymore?) I personally love to see people come out in museum quality uniforms and equipment, but I'm also thrilled when someone actually comes out and shoots with a uniform or outfit that just gives the right "look" or "feel" from a little distance.  We most definitely have room for both, and we have a good time doing it.

Since you seem to be an "expert" on about everything or so you try to make us think in your posts, perhaps a few pictures of your uniforms and equipment would be in order soon, or perhaps as I'm guessing they don't exist.     We'd like to see them with you in then and perhaps you would even be so kind as to tell us where your barracks are.

Since 19th century uniform regulations were not as precise, clothing was tailor made or modified, and some items were worn after newer items were authorized, GAF members who enter a GAF uniform competition should be prepared to explain any deviations from the uniform regulations of the period.

Regulation Uniforms. A regulation uniform is defined as one that reasonably follows the uniform regulations for a particular country or service for a specified time period. Reference should be made to the official regulations as well as images of the period.
Silver Screen Uniforms. Uniforms based on those worn in film and on TV are perfectly acceptable for wear in the GAF.

Liten: We are not a military organization,  nor paramilitary, nor reinactors, certianly not stitch  counters.  We are a social group interested in the weapons  and  lore of the Victorian era military.  We like to shoot, have fun, attempt to dress the part, and sit around the fire, wether for real or in cyberspace, and tell our stories.

You called for my opinion, then did not accept it.  If enforced regulations, inspections and uniformity in the ranks are what you desire, I would suggest heading over to your nearest recruiter and signing up.  I did that for 20  years.  I regret none of it, but that part of my life is over.

And certianly never, in all my years of service, aboard any ship I crewed, did I ever even consider insulting the COOK!
