Uberti-based Avenging Angel
« on: July 15, 2019, 10:48:33 PM »
Just finished this custom Avenging Angel built on an Uberti Richards-Mason conversion replica in .38 Special.

Birdshead grip, barrel shortened, reshaped and recrowned at 2", new post front sight in brass, ejector removed, nail-nicks at the back of the cylinder to aid with extraction, new front sight and custom grips. The grips are book-matched Bolivian Rosewood, sanded to 3000-grit and finished with four coats of lacquer. Internals were slicked-up.

At some point I suppose I'll strip it and rust-blue the barrel and cylinder, but for now I'm quite pleased with it!

Hey Lawman  :D

I ain't Tinker.  Didn't stay in a Holiday Inn last night, but ........ Tinker built the gun on a Uberti built Richards - Mason in .38.  That little snubby barrel is .357 .... not .375 and doesn't need hollow base nor heel base bullets.  In fact, that barrel would tend to choke on heel base 375 bullets   :o

As Coffinmaker said- this is a .357 Bore and takes standard .38 Special ammunition, but when I do a conversion on a .36 I'll use a heel-base .375 bullet since I already use them for my Bulldog chambered in .380 Revolver.
