How much to add to pattern for thicker leather

If I have a pattern for a western holster for 8oz leather, how much should I resize the pattern if I make it 8oz with same 8oz for liner (total  16oz)?

I did a pair that way one time and added 1/4" at the seam to allow for the additional thickness. It worked out fine. They were a bitch to wet mold with two thicknesses joined by glue, though. However, they're super stiff. You would have a hard time misshaping them. Maybe if you drove over them with a truck or something. Maybe not even then.

Thanks Will.  Yeah, I built one during a class with Chris Andre (Slickbald).  It is one tough holster though.  I was just wondering how much to add.  I was thinking 1/4” like you suggest, just wasn’t sure.
