One think that will work is ta upload the pic ta a net based server like Kodak er photobucket.  They automaticly resize it fer the web.  Then you can save their version of your picture to your hard drive and load it to your profile.  A few ectra steps but it works.

I checked my photo and it met all the size requirements so I tried posting again and it worked this time.  I did not do anything different but it worked.  Thanks for everyones replies.
