Two years ago the Department of the Atlantic was organized into three Districts. The intent was to provide local command and control to facilitate the possibility of having District activities such as mini-musters and/or a Department muster. It was a challenging undertaking but the members of the Department apparently did not support this effort. Because of this, I feel that the continuation of having the Department subdivided into Districts is no longer warranted. Therefore effective immediately the Districts are dissolved. District commanders and all personnel reporting to them will report to me.
To all of you who tried to make the District concept work you have my sincere thanks.
Future Departmental changes will be announced via the "Barracks".
