Afternoon all.

Rainy again in Billings. Pretty much all there is to say.

I have a 2 hour flight simulator lesson in an hour. Simulating a cross country flight to Powell Wyoming. Ought to be great, especially since the AC in the unit is broken.

For you tractor guys

https://bham.craigslist.org/grd/d/tuscaloosa-hot-rod-ford-tractor-with/6858188911.html

Company named Funk did that in the 50's for more power on the farm.  Takes a Funk or this companies cast iron oil pan to do.  Gotta have a place to bolt on the front axle.

8N engine was basically  half a V8.

My uncle was building a "Faux Funk" 8n before he died. He had restored 7-8 tractors and numerous cars before, but the Ford was his biggest project. I suppose whoever his son sold it to may have finished it, but I don't know where it ended up.

Local place  ESTERN AUTO ( had been a Western Auto but the W was taken off when the owner went franchise less )
The guy had a number of N8 & N9  from fine ground up restorations, to work tractors painted with a brush.
He was old then, some 25 years ago.
You'll still see a few of his passion about the area, but the old guy closed his doors , and the place is Jiffy Lube now, new building and all.
I wanted a 48 model he'd spruced up, but it was another fellows and NFS  :(

Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are hot.

'Tis 40 and fog. "Cooler. Cloudy. A chance of rain showers and thunderstorms in the morning  then rain showers and a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 50s. East wind 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent."

1948 TE-20,  the world famous  "Little Grey Ferguspn."

Back in 96 for their Golden Jubilee  they contacted all known owners to find the oldest still working  one in the US and tractor shows didn't  count.

Dad didn't get to go to England, didn't get one of the cash prizes,  but did come up at 9 and outside as we understand  was in the first 100 of imports.

Well, the weather finally let me down, and I had to put the new edger to use.  Got 5 bags of encroaching sod off the sidewalk (some almost 2" thick)!  I really need to keep ahead of this stuff.

Also spread 8 bags of processed Milwaukee river water over the lawn.  Followed up by testing the watering system (the sprinkler heads all still work).  I hope the grass will hold off on needing mowing until I get back from Indy and the NRA Annual Meeting.

My Grandpa, on my Mom's side had a Ferguson, but wasn't all gray, it was gray and red. It was a 20, did they make a TO-20? That's what I seem to remember it being. Sickle mower, brush hog and blade. He also had an Allis "G", the small one with the engine in the back. He just used it with a trailer, and it tended to rear up going uphill.

My uncle also had a couple of Oliver crawlers, one the standard one, and the other was extra wide, and a Super 55 oliver, built like an 8N Ford on steroids.
