Well friends turkey season is fast approaching . I can't wait to smoke ole Tom Turkey . Not only are they fun to hunt , but they are EXCELLENT eating . Until then I will keep after the Coyotes . I spotted 4  yesterday BUT they were at about 500 yards and moving fast .

Here is a turkey from a couple years ago taken with a 1878 .

Turkey season is weeks away . We can start planning our next adventure . I wiped my ole double barrel down tonight . Then I dug through my shotgun shells to ensure I had enough BP ammo loaded . I still have a couple boxes which is more than enough . Plan on patterning my shotgun this week . And last but not least , it's time to hunt up my Turkey calls . There's nothing more exciting than to call a gobbling Tom into shooting range .

Here is a picture from 2008

Looks like last winter was tough on the Turkeys . I haven't see as many as usual . Haven't fired a shot this year . I aint smoked nuthin YET . Plan on hunting Saturday and Sunday . Hum I better be home early Sunday Mothers Day . I wish I could win the Lottery then I could hunt EVERYDAY . A bad day hunting is still better than a good day at work .

Now is the perfect time to check your weapons and Hunting loads . I try shooting at different ranges from close to far . Have you shot your rifle at 10 yards ? you might have a Deer come under your stand , be close enough to spit on . Do you KNOW where your Rifle shoots at , at that distance ?

Good article Rowdy, I'm jealous you can use centerfire rifles, we can only use shotguns
here. Will there be new buckskin clothes from the hide?
