Latest Acquisition
« on: September 10, 2018, 02:47:56 PM »
This new service just arrived Fed Ex.  Love the C&R FFL.  It is a british proofed revolver in 45 LC.  There are no markings left on the barrel.  The brit proof is still on the cylinder so it may actually be originally chambered in the 45 colt vs the 455 webley.  I have also ordered some actual new service grips, I do like the stag.  The DA trigger pull seems nicer than the Brazillian 1917 S&W. Perhaps I need to pull the S&W Side plate and clean and lube it.

Nice looking old Colt. Looking into the cylinder where the chamber cuts are it looks to be a .45 lc. .455 webley rounds are terribly short.  Remember though that to get all the accuracy it’s capable of you need .454 dia bullets.

Nice!  I love old revolvers.

Love the C&R FFL.

For a time, my state didn't allow C&R transfers except through an actual dealer, but that law got fixed this year.  Having these shipped directly saves so much money and hassle.  For me, it has often made the difference between being able to afford the purchase or having to pass it up.  The C&R license is one of the best deals for those who like older guns.

Congratulations!

Try this fellow if you want real elk stag. Ken Driskill, he sells on gunbroker. I’ve bought several sets from him. I also have a set on my .38 NS that he made. He usually has a couple of Colt grips and he will let you try them but if you don’t like them all you’re out is postage and ins to return them.
