Google it.  There is a company selling a brass one for about $40.  S&S Firearms.

I found that but was unsure if it will work in the reproductions or just original one

They are really nice and most experienced people:

S&S has been good dealing for parts via my emails, but since I see Phil at Fort Shenandoah during N-SSA National Skirmishes, I call once in a while.

Phil has kept me from buying the wrong item at times.  Don't be shy.  Ask away.

Either by phone or email, Mom or Phil should give a part number that you can use for on-line ordering.

Again, just so we recall, there are two S&S outfits IN NY.
The Glendale one is correct.

Please let us know how your shooting goes.  Photo's are most appreciated.

All the best,
El Supremo/Kevin Tinny

Phil responded to my email, he stated it will only work with the original Spencer

Thanks for updating us. My Chiappa Spencer has the older black plastic follower, which doesn't look too bad.

If you want brass or alum, instead of an earlier black plastic one, you may have to have one custom made.
Won't be cheap. Maybe a friend can help you with one.
Alum better than brass to have follower close to weight of red one.
Be sure the HEAD of the small screw that rides in the tube slot does not sit higher than the edge of the slot so it does not rub inside the outer tube.  Won't hurt to put a drop of BLUE LOCTITE on it to keep it in place.

Try calling the Armisport/Chiappa Warranty facility in Dayton OH.
They may have one in another color or in metal.
If black plastic would be ok for now, maybe dipping it in black shoe DYE would darken it sufficiently.
Good to have the dimensions and serial number when calling.
A'Sport Spencers are known for dimension variations on internals.
