Currently carrying a RIA compact 1911 in .45 ACP. But, thinking of getting something a bit lighter.

I've switched to a Rossi clone of the S&W model 60 with the firing pin on the hammer.

Here's the holster I carry my S&W Shield 9 in:

http://advancedperformanceshooting.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Epitome.jpg

Since the belt goes over the holster, it keeps the gun pulled in tight to the body, and for me it's snugged up right under my...errrr?. "overhang"  :o when worn just in front of the hip. Conceals pretty well with a loose fitting untucked t-shirt or a polo shirt.

I tried the IWB holster, gave it a good run. I wore it one day, when I had a lot of driving to do, 3 hrs up to Athens, more driving around up there, 3 hrs back... By the end of the day, I couldn't hardly walk. Been 3-4 weeks, and I'm still in pain. No more IWB for me!

update . I have yet to use the OTW thumb break with the Sig 365 ? just no occasion as its still to warm for any light jacket and I don't go untucked
( well T shirts I do but seldom wear them aside from around the house )

So it has been the DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster

I use either a 1908 .380 Colt model M or a Colt 1911 on a belt or a shoulder holster USFA SAA Sheriffs .45.
In the early 90s, I knew a 90 plus years old man who ran a gun shop in Wichita that still carried his old 1849 Pocket model, in the late 90s I knew a shop owner who kept a 2nd model S&W Russian under the counter. I guess it really is whatever you are most comfortable with.

I bounce between a Scandium J frame .38 spcl and a lightweight Colt Mustang .380. In the fall/winter I will carry my 625-10 .45acp or a New Agent .45. I pocket carry usually but I?ll carry the 1911 owb.

I was convinced my 38 J frames were my go to  ..... trusted and handy , though only 5 shots & a bit heavy ( not Scandium )
I discovered the Beretta Jetfire 950 BS and enjoy the light deep carry  8 +1 but its 25 ACP  :-\

The Sig 365 w/ 12 + 1 in 9 MM  is  18.5 oz  and it goes bang every time...so far

I agree.  As I mentioned earlier, the P365 is rapidly taking over as my carry gun.  I use a Kydex IWB holster with a loose shirt over it or a Kydex pocket holster in my right front pocket.  I have a pouch with a flap that holds a spare magazine on my left hip.  It just looks like a multi-tool or something since you can't see what's in there.  This setup is just hard to beat...

I haven't been keeping track .... What's the ratio of CCW revolvers compared to semi-autos?

It depends on the weather. Hot weather seems to lean towards semi autos, cold weather favors revolvers.

Put me in the revolver column. airweight 642 S&W. I have carried several others . But once I found pocket carry I don't even think about it any more. DR

Went to a CAS/Zoot shoot. Afterwards went to Walmart. My CCW was a 1911A1.

My local WM has .22, shotshells, and some 30-30, 30-06, etc, and some big empty spaces where pistol and .223 ammo used to be.

I didn't check. Bought groceries. I don't know if I have ever bought ammo at Walmart.

Not a lot of gun shops in my area, and the two we have are high... And so are their prices. If Wally had it, which wasn't often, I'd get some. Otherwise, I wait till I go to Athens. An almost 3 hour drive.
