Here's my two favorite rifles of all time.   My 1860 Henry in 44-40, made by Henry Repeating Arms.   And my Sharps Hartford Buffalo Rifle in 45-70, made by C. Sharps Arms.   Both fun shooters!

I did some trading and got my Henry. It?s a Cimarron civil war addition with markings, and sling swivels. It is chambered in 45 colt. It just dropped in my lap.

I was fortunate to pick up a Uberti Cimarron 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine in 38 special this week.

I also added a Uberti/Navy Arms Henry Military model in 44-40 to the stable a few weeks ago (08/21).

I never got around to posting that I did get my Uberti 1860 Henry.  It is in 45 Colt and shoots quite nicely.

Cabela's "Gun Library"  is a safe source (unlike GB anymore)
and if you have some Cabela's Bucks accrued sometimes a bargain .

A year ago or so got a Uberti Henry in .45 Colt from a friend who has unfortunately aged out of the game.  It is heavy but fun.  Will prolly shoot it at EOT. Lost brass and all .45 colt is easier to get than the .44-40 my miroku 73 shoots.

 :)  EVERYBODY  ;)

For those of you recently acquiring a Henry, or a '66, or a '73 in 45 Colt.  Your al going to experience an amount of Blow By that will foul the Carrier Block and Mortice.  Two fixes for the Blow By.  First is to anneal your 45 Colt cases.  Second is to start with 44-40 cases, carefully run thru 45 Colt dies and fire formed to 45 Colt.  Either will run squeaky clean.

Some tout and claim using heavy loads with heavy bullets, which only partially mitigates Blow By.  The above two solutions actually eliminate all the Blow-By.

I suppose you can add me to the list.  About 2008 I dropped in at EMF and was just visiting with Grn'l Grant, when he up and offered me one of theh last rifles he received from Uberti in 45 Colt as I had one of the 1st five 45 Colt rifles imported into the US thu him. So I became the proud owner of a Steel Framed 1860.  I'm now waiting on a Carbine length Steel Frame 1860.

The "Holy Trinity" came together last week with the addition of a Uberti Henry Carbine in .45 Colt.
It will be fed .45 Schofield smokeless rounds as my main Wild Bunch rifle.
In a pinch it will also double as a main-match rifle for CAS, as it will hold ten .45 Schofield BP cartridges, albeit with no room for a "gamer stick" then.

My first was a HEGE Uberti Iron Frame Henry Rifle in .44-40 back in 1994.
It was intended for the 110 yard prone precision discipline in MLAIC.
So it was decked out with a tunnel front sight, a tang sight, military style sling swivels & sling,
and a patch-box in the stock to hold the tunnel sight inserts.
It served me well with open sights for CAS main-match from 1997.
Nowadays it's mostly used for the Lever-action Pistol-caliber Long range sidematch.

The second one was a Uberti Henry Military Rifle in .45 Colt back in 2010ish.
It was immediately put in service as a mainmatch rifle being fed .45 Schofield BP rounds.
I have never felt the need to upgrade to the "Improved" Henry or the later "Gun that won the West".
A humble HEGE Armi Sport / Chiappa Spencer Carbine in .45 Schofield has served as my back-up gun until the Henry Carbine now graces my gun cabinet.

Now, if only HRA or Uberti would get around to making a replica of the Volcanic Navy size pistol in .44 Russian with a factory-installed short-stroke kit so it could be fired Duelist style...?

The "cool-factor" of a brace of Volcanics, a Henry & an 1887 Winchester would just be off the charts...!  8)

 :) Hey Griff  ;)

I full well understand your desire.  Me TWO.  However, Don't hold yer breath.  You won't look good in "Dead Blue."  Unfortunately, in all the years I had my Shingle out, I never saw an "Iron Frame" 1860 Carbine.  "If" Uberti makes it for you on special order, you'll be stuck running 45 Schofield cases with 200Gr length or shorter bullets to load 10.  Yule only be able to get Nine and a Half 45 Colt to load.  Bummer.
