Title: Gonna Love That Wool...
Post by: Guns Garrett on June 24, 2019, 08:43:31 AM
Cant always depend on "extended forecasts", but this is what the Nat'l Weather Service is sayin' for Jun 26-30:

Thursday:  Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.
Thursday Night:  Mostly clear, with a low around 66.

Friday:  Sunny, with a high near 91.
Friday Night:  Mostly clear, with a low around 67.

Saturday:  Sunny, with a high near 92.
Saturday Night:  Mostly clear, with a low around 67.

Sunday:  Mostly sunny, with a high near 90.

Aren't calling for any rain (30% Wed. nite)...but it's NEBRASKA

Be sure ya'all have plenty of water!

Ah My Good Monsieur Garret

Loook on the bright side ... any movies makers in Spain and Southern France and northern Italy are facing an historic heatwave with temperatures over 104 deg f for the week or more.... Central EU is expecting the unheard of 100 deg mark....

And they don,t know how to deal with it.

And That is what summer-weight Linen is for!

unless you are Japanese and embrace the Silk Kimono or open-weave Cotton and Flax Yukata

too bad nobody made uniforms out of these ....

I wonder how comfortable the Civil War Zouave uniform was to wear in the heat...

Hi, I  left Oklahoma weighing in at 225 and weighed 214 Monday morning having a diet of primarily Gatorade and tea.   I did eat, but i sure went through the liquids.  This includes eating at Taco John's  on the way home.  Not much wool on me either.

wahoo

I wore a wool shirt two out of the three days and it was fine.  It DOES depend on the wool, though.

Problem was that my Wool shirt was the same Navy Blue as the two Cotton Twill (heavy as heck) shirts I wore.  I think maybe the Khaki 1899 jacket might be cooler.  Maybe I SHOULD get one of WPG's Sky blue wool jobs.

That would be nice. I had about the same diet and somehow managed to gain a pound over the 2 weeks leading up to the muster >:(
