Enlistment Help
« on: February 05, 2015, 04:22:46 PM »
Howdy all,

After talking to many of you guys on Facebook last night (I was the guy with the "silly question", I've finally decided to ask for help:  Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, but I can't seem to get the "Enlistment Submission Form" from the GAF website to work for me.  I tried it several times last year, as well as earlier this week, and I get no reply, or a "failure to deliver message", and it says that the email address is not valid.  I'd love to join this august organization (  ::) ), but just can't seem to make the system work for me.  Even the address provided on the "contact the enlistment officer" link doesn't seem to work.  Any help would be appreciated.

You've come to the right place, Cpl Jake! As Delmonico said, Gen Pitspitr should be along soon to help out. Most of the action with GAF will be found here, the website has....ummm...."issues". It's pretty much just there to look at, but it won't DO anything.

Consider yourself enlisted, the staff will be along to do the paperwork directly.  Check in here to make sure it gets done.  Make you're self at home,  new recruits keep the stove fired until the weather warms up.

What, no physical examination, no background check, no 5 million pages of paper work to fill out?  Easiest Enlistment ever! :D

He's probably scouring Custer County looking for some old metal boats to make a new range prop.

Actually I was. I got home wrapped up in a couple of blankets and slept on the couch until the Mrs. General woke me up and told me to go to bed. The cold seems a little better this morning.

Jake; The website does indeed have problems. The 2 members who set it up for us and in who's names it was registered in apparently both died this fall. The registration expires in a week or so at which time we will buy it and then be able to update the site. In the mean time, as has been said, consider yourself enlisted. Send me your enlistment information and I'll see to it that you get added to our roster.

Good guess, didn't know you had a cold.

And we knew you could get this figured out, I knew bits and pieces of the story with the web site.

Eh, I am sorry to hear that.  I figured there were some problems, but didn't realize that they were that serious.  Certainly explains a lot.
