This is a learning process for all. My 1st duty, volunteered ILI Entrance Monitor. Only after I volunteered, did I understand ILI stood for Influenzas Like Illness (Covid Clinic). 2nd Entrance Monitor is the primary at entrance. At all other entrances, I admit, I would have been overwhelmed, for all other entrances, I would have been in charge of a dozen people, at ILI, the team was 3, me, myself, & I. No screeners, no temperature monitors, no transport. 2nd time transport 1700-2100, was told to log all requests, I did, but wasn’t told who do I turn the log in too. 3rd shift, transport 1300-1700. I logged all requests by time, by request PT patient escort, PB personal belongings, & location, at end of shift, I approached orange vest, (entrance monitor) & asked who do I give my log to? She told me information desk. So I went to info desk to hand over my log, the reply I got was holy crap, they realized there should have been reports/logs handed in. I kept a log & turned it in, 1 other of the 3 of us kept a log, I saw them thow it out. So my report, multiply x4, for 2.5 hours, I rarely saw them. I understand why on the data collection, planning. I showed up a half hour early, busy enough I did 2x transports before I was to start.
Things getting serious, between My department ramping up, & 440 hours a week of reassignment, all vacations in equipment service are suspended. Hoping the 20 hours a week I volunteer for & still report for duty for 20 hours a week will give my group some protection.
