Colt Lightning Rifle Won't Cycle

I was taking apart and cleaning a Colt Lightning Express Rifle when I noticed that after I had assembled it the pump would get stuck in the forward position and would not cycle unless I depressed the magazine gate after taking the magazine tube out. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how I could fix this as I have no idea.

Those things are a b***h to re-assemble. you mis-aligned something. Take it apart and start over. Be sure to get the lug on the back end of the slide engaged wirh the slot on the bottom of the bolt.
