4th Cavalry Regiment -Civilian Scout Persona
« on: March 07, 2006, 05:26:56 PM »
Hi,

I've been working on my persona as a civilian army scout for Mackenzie's 4th cavalry regiment and just ordered a couple of books that I'm hoping will give me some additional information for my persona.

First, is a book by Captain Henry W. Strong entitled, My Frontier Days & Indian Fights on the Plains of Texas.  Strong was an actual scout with the 4th under Mackenzie;  the second book is by Richard A. Thompson entitled, Crossing the Border with the 4th Cavalry Mackenzie's Raid Into Mexico 1873.

Both books are kind of pricey, but my wife said I could order them, and use the books as credits for her presents she would have given me for Christmas 2008 and 2009.

I hope they will have some useful information.

I believe that you will find that MacKenzie's Raid into Mexico is when they ended up campaigning in Sombreo's and union suits.

My word, Two Flints!  You certainly seem to be running a healthy deficit in the area of gift expectations!    :o
