Need an 1898 Krag Rear Sight
« on: May 24, 2018, 08:33:03 PM »
Gentlemen,
Does anyone have an 1898 Krag rear sight laying around loose?  I've got some Trapdoor parts I'd be willing to trade.

Niederlander,

You may find many variation in sights and forearm guards between the late 1896 and 1898/01 Krag rifle/carbine combinations. I would suggest you contact Lodgewood or S&S with specifics and photos of your firearm as it is now!
They maybe able to help you?
My best,

I like Granpas gun parts.  I got an 1896 Carbine band from him in poor condition.  It cleaned up quite nicely.  Just the right level of use for my carbine.  A 1901 sight would probably suffice.

Update:  In fact, after doing some more research, the 1901 sight would probably be preferable.
