I'm waiting for the U.S.P.O. to bring me a magazine for a Mossberg 342KC that I picked up recently, it will double the cost of what I have into the rifle.

Hang you a faux ejector rod on that and you?ve got a Gale Davis aka Annie Oakley Colt Police Positive. Nice find. I saw her Colts at either the NRA or Cody Museums. My only PP has a factory lanyard swivel, which is why I bought it.

This is LNIB made in the last several years. It is made in Belgium and assembled in Portugal. According to what I've read, they have been assembled in Portugal since the 1980's.

A long time ago .... In a galaxy Far Far Away ....

Whilst stationed in Germany in 1971 we could buy surpluses High Powers for $75.  Found later, 'cause they hand lanyard rings, couldn't bring them home.  Snif Snif Snuffle Snuffle.

I was at the Toy Store yesterday (Nov. 1 )  and took a real good look at the Browning Hi Power on consignment.

I looked for the S# to try to determine the manufacture date.
The slide has the Browning Utah address line and Made in Belgium ,  no S # visible on the frame slide or barrel.
I believe it is on the frame below the Trigger Guard.
The # was not visible because the PO has applied an anti-slip tape strip under the TG and the BS.

All indications it is a post 1954 import to the US commercial purchase gun with walnut grip panels.

Pure speculation on my part at this point a  mid sixties maybe early 70's manufacture date.... condition is good, but not excellent....

I think the $1100 asking price is at best optimistic infarct whimsical.

EDIT: the tape was removed and lo and behold NO Serial Number,  in fact no Serial number anywhere
Had it been removed ? a real possibility  :o   The consigner dropped the price to $250.00  :o
RED Flag The gun is unlawful to possess, not legal to sell ,  so no sale no way !

I agree it is over priced. $900 - $1000 is closer.

Hey Kent ?.  ah thanks but I figure half cure is admitting the addiction....so hence the post

HI ! "  I'm Major and I'm a  gunoholic "   1/2 a cure is better than none

I guess I'll admit to the Springfield 1903 rifle that broke my almost 11 day withdrawal   ;D least I'm a happy "O"holic    :D

Todays LGS visit netted a 16" 1905 Bayonet for the 03  . and as a side score a British 1888 Pattern Lee Medford and/or Lee Enfield Bayonet

scary part is I don't have a Lee Medford or Lee Enfield..... ummmm  YET  :-\
