Good article TL, enjoyed it. I'm glad there is still stuff like this in the Chronicle - rather than just the latest whiz-bang mods for Rugers. I was a little concerned when I read this paragraph:
"Kirst Konverters are SASS legal, even
though they are five-shot cylinders. In
the case of the 1860 Konverter, you simply lower the hammer down so the firing
pin is between two chambers when not
being fired or in the holster"
That would not be SASS legal unless there is a safety notch between chambers. I thought there was so I looked on Kirst site to be sure, and they do say there is a safety notch between chambers, so all is well.
Even though I've only shot it in about 6 matches, I really like my Kirst-Strite '61.
