Last of the Comanches
« on: August 25, 2007, 03:28:09 PM »
I'm watching Last of the Comanches ... I had never seen this 1952 B western with Broderick Crawford as a cavalry sergeant...
It is complete with Hollywood Henrys, set in 1876 ( they mention Custer's Late Stand as just a few months pasted ).
Now as the plot unveils , I think I seen this plot before.....

Yep it is Sahara the 1943 Humphrey Bogart WW2 film....  complete with desert ruin and dripping almost dry well.
instead of a M3 Lee Tank , it's a Butterfield Stage , instead of Germans it's Comanches.
I mean right down to the same Dialog ...almost word for word ....
I'm sitting having never seen it before and knowing exactly what will happen next ....

dang this is annoying

and Sahara was a remake of a Russian film Trinadtsat (1937)

when planets align...do the deal !
