Future event ideas and suggestions
« on: January 13, 2023, 05:09:50 PM »
This year's Eastern Regional is well underway, but I am curious to create a list and get suggestions from other successful events to develop for future events.

Please add to this thread with ideas that you have really enjoyed about other NCOWS events.

I have also created a google form to get feedback.  If you have major gripes, perhaps that would be the better place to air that opinion.

I want to see what people like to do while shooting!

... with some extra research this might be a cool topic at National Convention  ;D   ;)

I very much enjoy primitive camping. The camaraderie around the camp and evening
campfires is great. Just ask my brother from an earlier life Matt Harris. Or the camps
we used have at buffalo shoots at Ackley

Some of my most memorable NCOWS experiences were primitive camping at the NCOWS Nationals in Evansville and at the NCOWS Midwest Regionals.

Attached is a picture of one of Beartooth Billy's fine primitive campa. I remember grilling Buffalo steaks over the coals at the NCOWS Midwest Regionals.

Thanks for posting pictures Johnny. I think it was the first Midwest Regional, we set
up camp on Thursday afternoon, and a car rolls up and asks if he could camp near us.
It was The first time I met Johnny, he was a little embarrassed that he had a modern
nylon tent. I said don't worry about it, and after 4 days of camping we literally became
friends for life.

I remember that day well. It was Beartooth who got me into primitive camping.

Another way to greatly enhance your NCOWS experience is to consider entering the "Original's" category.
