Title: It May be a new month, who knows

Well at least in a few minutes here.  Wife went shopping today and drug home a rose bush, more on that saga later. ;)

Professor
I’ll let you know how the first stage goes.  I’m scheduled for the 13th, then 6 or so weeks for recovery/healing/measuring for the dentures.  I’ll still have uppers and lowers between my incisors, so I guess I get to eat like Bucky Beaver for a while.  Those will get to come out after they get the dentures ready.

Major

I have a gag reflex that just won’t quit, so I get to take a nap while they do the extractions.

First solid food , since the extraction(s) Wed afternoon ( 3 days ago )  No problems
Went to the the Catfish Place

It is a favorite haunt of mine ( and my late Pard John )  we'd go about every Saturday after a visit to our friends LGS.
I carried on that tradition today  :)

I know from where you speak.  This June will mark the fifth year of the passing of a very close friend (the ol’ Italian “gas passer” insisted I call him DAD, as he was to me) so I mark his birth date and passing at his favorite local’s casino when he came over here from Oregon to Reno.  A salute, and a snifter of Grand Marnier.  Always try to get the same seats we sat in when he was last here.  Traditions are a very good thing!!

I'm afraid I might have something looming in my near future.  My wife is out shopping with her friend and may be heading for Big Box hardware stores and garden shops. ::)  I don't think I have to worry about a new rosebush (as we have three already), but she keeps talking about a new ponderosa pine tree for the back yard. :o :o  I don't think this 70 year old back can dig a hole that size, let alone lift that sucker to get it in the hole.  Once it's there I think I'll let her back fill it. ::) ::)

Tell me about it! ::)
I just spent two hours tracking down the location of the house of a Great Aunt on my fathers, mothers side of the family.  She lived in the small town of Cassopolis MI.  We used to go there every other year for Thanksgiving, when I was about 14.  The alternate years the MI side of the family came to our side of the pond in WI.
Don't lnow why I got the bug to find it, but it just came over me! :-\

2018 was my 50th High School Reunion, I was thinking about going  :-\

It was large Class of 1968 , I looked at the list of RSVP's and only recognize 3 names out about 230 or so  ( and that was only about 25 % of the entire graduating class)
I figured , I did not have any association or memories of any of them ( the 3 were just acquaintances passed in the hallway maybe or a class or 2 )

I had moved away from Miami 33 years ago.... lost touch with my school friends years ago and some had passed  ...so I did not sign up for @ $280 a night hotel room (two nights).
Now kinda sorry I did not go....  in 2020 The class planned a 70th BD Class Cruse. That failed because of the WooHoo Covid .

Still kinda nostalgic .... but  Eh !  I would have little in common with those I did not know anyway

It'd  be different if it was small Class, small town thing ... but my Senior Class was 970 +

T storm ran through a bit ago, fairly close lightning, was waiting for the strike, see the nice yuppie lady next door and her boy friend and someone else were out working on the metal shed they've been putting up since Saturday.  Told Rita if it struck and she smelled burning flesh to call 911.  Nice people to be truthful, boyfriend does drive a Prius. ::)  Rowdy likes them and they like him, they put up a crooked wooden fence a month or so ago and he peeks at them through the cracks. ;D

Good luck, just take your Anti-Bio's as prescribed.
Use some table salt in warn water to gargle

My follow-up went well , no infection , but he did not take out the stiches ( said they will dissolve )
I'm to go back is 3 weeks "if" they have not and he will remove them, or I can cancel the appointment if they have .

I made through step one of my new mouth.  Out of 20 extractions I had done that was leaking after I got home.  It of my upper right wisdom tooth (as inaccessible as it can get).  Called the Dr. and went back in, after some applications of a topical blood coagulant (or some think like that), everything is sealed up, and fine. :) :)  Next step, the follow up visit is the 24th, then it’s back to see the dentist for denture fitting.
So far, it’s been almost 24 hours since the procedure, so the original pain killed should have worn of long ago, but so far, no pain (knock on wood). :o :o Just taking antibacterial pills at this point.  We’ll see how long this lasts! ;) ;)
Took a while for the swelling to go down sufficiently, but I'm now on Ensure and cottage cheese.  Will work my way up from there after a few more days, when they say I can brush, and rinse  with a syringe they gave me.

Sounds about right, I had some minor spotting about 1 hour or 2.....Novocain wore off a 4-5 hours later.
I took one pain pill that night and another the next morning , still have the remainder...
Follow up showed no infection , but stiches are loose...
Glad you are doing good   :)

Morning all.

Mid 50s, heading toward 90 today. Still somehow managed to get snow in the high country.  ???

Last night I became the proud new owner of a 1993 Geo Prizm. For $650, it isn’t too bad. Going to change all the fluids in it tonight.

Not terribly uncomfortable yet, but turned on the A/C just to get rid of moisture in the house.
The porcelain tanks on the toilets were constantly dripping from the condensation forming on them.

Had ours off and had to get up in the night and turn it on.

Another flower planting day, Rita is going to do some cleaning in the house today, this is moving in sometime this week.  Her Nephews family recused her, she gets along with the dogs but not the other cats.  Just a trial to see if it works out.

Always good to have them do, especially side to side, elevation is easier to deal with as long as it's not bad.

I'd been up about 3 hours, Rita had trouble sleeping last night, almost went downstairs and rolled out my bedroll because the couch sucks.   She bought it with out laying on it, nice to sit on but sucks to sleep on.  ::)

Planting the roses that have accumulated on the porch, won't finish before dark, sitting and digging with a trowel is slow, but it's better than having an angina attack and having to take nitro, damn stuff gives you a headache like working with double base powder, bet no one ever had a heart attack doing that. ;D

Came in to get a knife since I have sweats on. ;)

Went to Omaha, UNMC today, they will be scheduling Rita's new knees in a couple days.

No trouble finding it, one of the things in Omaha I can find right off, was looking for something on the way home and let the navigator do the stuff, I've said it before and I'll say it again, they reason some men don't stop and ask directions is a woman might try to give them.  ::) :o    All right hand passengers in left hand drive cars should be able to read a map and give proper directions to the driver, if a right hand drive car then the left hand passenger should be able to do the same.  Any not capable should have to ride other than the passenger compartment either in the rumble seat, trunk or top rack, which ever said vehicle is equipped with, in the case of a pick up then the box will serve well. :P

My plans include a visit to Mt. Pease to pay my respects....

St. Cloud is known as 'Soldier City' because the town was founded on being a retirement home for Union soldiers after the Civil War.
It’s a real fitting place to remember those who lost their lives in the fight for freedom,  Civil War, Spanish American WW1 WW2
Korean and Viet Wars.
