Alox & 777
« on: March 17, 2021, 04:37:35 PM »
Have a .44-40 revolver that binds up using black powder. Am going to try 777 for the first time. I normally lube bullets using SPG. Can I lube bullets with Alox when loading with 777 ?

Instead of changing the bullet lube, try lubricating the base pin and base pin bushing with wheel bearing grease instead of lightweight gun oil.

What kind of revolver?  Unless it's a Uberti top break, I've had no problems with most any solid frame revolver and BP.  Though Remingtons of any kind do like a heavier Grease on the cylinder pin.
